I wouldn't say it is more "fun" but maybe it's just something our lo can concentrate on during brushing. We use a timer on my phone for her toothbrushing sessions. I set it for 2 minutes. If she gets distracted, I pause it. Somehow she now lets me brush her teeth for the entire 2 minutes. It's much easier now than when she would fight every single time.

My husband sings. I tell her about all the food I'm getting out of her teeth (like, a rundown of what she ate that day: "ooh, look at that macaroni way back there! Oop- I see some smoothie!").

DS is 2.5 so he's taking to heavy praising. It's kind of ridiculous how "excited/proud" I act when he's brushing well, and he continues to brush well. Or if I brush with him or take turns brushing his teeth then pretend to brush mine, he'll let me brush his teeth well.

We watch one video/listen to one song. My son used to love Raffi's "Brush your teeth". Now he loves to watch Sheppard's "Geronimo" music video.

The toy "du jour" will brush her teeth (it might be a glow stick, a stuffed animal, a sticker - basically whatever she's attached to at bedtime). DH usually just holds it in his hand with the toothbrush. Or, he'll say the fire truck is brushing her teeth and make a siren noise. It works sometimes. Other times nothing works

Same as @tinyperson: - currently "Melmo" (aka me holding elmo's hand) brushes LO's teeth.

We brush our teeth together. LO loves mimicking our moves and cracks him up when we gurgle (sp?) the mouthwash.

I use my sonicare on her and she LOVES it! She begs to use mommy's brush! We let her brush with her regular toothbrush first.

I just ask them what books they want to read afterwards....that usually distracts LO 2.

I sing songs. DS will choose a song for me to sing, or a topic and I'll make up a song.

I talk about all the food buggies I am brushing away--I make up silly stories about them, etc.

He has an Olaf toothbrush, a Snoopy toothbrush, Elmo, Abby Cadabby, Cookie Monster, etc. and gets to pick which one he wants.
