If the kids sweat in the sun, then we do. If they're mostly indoors (school/daycare), then we'll skip days here and there. Can't skip too often though, because then our daughter's hair gets super tangled!
Do you do baths every night?

she takes showers now which makes it SO much easier. when she was bathing, she wanted to stand, run, get out and it was a pain in the neck and I dreaded it. I don't mind if she wants to take them nightly but tonight, she was clean and I was tired so I stuck her in bed without. haha.

Yes, especially in the summer and because of daycare. She gets so filthy.

When I was staying at home with dd, we only did every 2nd night
Now she's at daycare and comes home so dirty. Plus she's a one year old eating mostly finger foods so yeah, nightly baths are a must now.

Yes! We might skip during the weekend if we are out late but alway during the week. Gotta get those day care germs off her.

@Smurfette: haha I'm glad I'm not the only one that thinks like that!! Kids get sick because of daycare so why wouldn't I want to wash it all off before she gets in bed?!
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@regberadaisy: yeah I don't understand why you wouldn't want to wash them off!!

More so when it's warmer and LO1 is out playing, getting dirty/sweaty. In the cooler months we can go a few days without since we are usually cooped up in the house anyway. Bath time with a 6 month old and two year old is challenging, I couldn't put myself through that every night.

Most nights we give her a bath. She doesn't go to daycare though, so if we have a quiet, non sweaty/sunscreen day we might skip it.

Yes! There is never a day that we don't get dirty in this house...
apricot / 288 posts
Every other night in our house. Unless there's something (like very sweaty or messy dinner) that calls for more often. It's not that it's a hassle, I just don't have the energy and even after 20 months, DH has never done bathtime...

Yes! They starting sleeping really well when we started doing nightly baths. We don't mess with the routine!
cantaloupe / 6630 posts
Yes, she likes them and seriously needs them considering her table manners
honeydew / 7283 posts
@travelgirl1: ditto on the table manners
We used to do every other night, but dinners have been such a mess lately that "tubby time" immediately follows meal time.
Ugh - come to think of it she had two baths today because of a bad diarrhea episode during her nap What two year old has a diaper blowout?

Every other night unless we went swimming/ had sunscreen on or got really dirty and sweaty.

Yes, between the food stuck all over him, sweat, sunscreen, and daycare germs, LO takes a bath every night. He also really enjoys it so baths are win-win for us!

She's still a newborn so we bathe her three times a week. Her skin gets dry if we do it more often.
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
Almost always. Usually we skip a night one night a week.
GOLD / wonderful pea / 17697 posts
I skip a night every so often, but he really enjoys baths so it's not often.

Every other night unless there were potty accidents, someone got sick or we went somewhere that was pretty dirty.

DS has dry skin so we usually only bathe 2-3x per week.....but he spends his days at grandma's house so I'm not too worried about germs. We do wash his hands, face and feet (when he wears sandals) every night.
cantaloupe / 6669 posts
For the longest time we did it almost every night but then she went through a hating baths phase so we dropped down to every other. She is back to liking them but we still don't do them every night. I do usually want to bathe her after she's gone to school (Tues/Thurs).

Noooo. It depends on our daily activities- sweaty/dirty, then definitely. Otherwise it depends on how much time we have. Swim class night definitely counts as a bath night.
pear / 1946 posts
I usually do an every other day bath schedule, unless she's extra dirty. On weekends we're kinda lazy and will go 2 days without baths.
grapefruit / 4066 posts
We used to do baths everyday but as of recently, LO has started HATING baths, and its basically a screaming fest the entire time. So I try for every other night now and do a quick clean with washcloth in between.
cantaloupe / 6059 posts
For DS, yes. DD only gets a bath once a week but she is still very little and unable to get truly dirty unlike C who is dirty about 5 mins out of the tub. p
grapefruit / 4988 posts
Yes because she gets pretty gross at daycare and always has food all over her after dinner. We only shampoo every three days though.
nectarine / 2217 posts
in the summer, often twice a day.... in the winter, less. much less, sometimes haha
hostess / wonderful watermelon / 39513 posts
Yes, they get too dirty at school and they sweat a lot!
hostess / cantaloupe / 6486 posts
Yes. Partly because she loved to rub her food in her hair & partly for consistency & bedtime schedule sake.
