Or do you use a bookmark?
I dog-ear probably 80% of the time and use a scrap of paper or one of those tear-out magazine subscription cards the rest of the time. My most-cherished books are full of dog-ear indents.

no...i use scraps of paper as bookmarks. lately i've been using CB's drawings as bookmarks

Not for books. I use something (anything) else as a bookmark. I dog ear magazines though.

I always dog ear in my own books. I'll use something else for a borrowed book.

Dog ears bug me too. I let my mother in law borrow some books and was annoyed that they came back all bent up.
