I live in an area with moderate public transportation at best and pretty much everyone drives and has cars. I'm always surprised to find out when people don't know how to drive. I got my license as soon as possible! Do you have a drivers license? When did you learn to drive?

I grew up outside the city limits of a very small town. Driving was necessary. I was definitely driving before the legal age...again, small town.

I drive (got my license a little after 16, I think). I live in the suburbs, so it's needed.
I remember seeing girls from my high school getting taken out of school on their 16th birthdays to go for their DMV test. That is NOT going to fly when LO is old enough! Driving is a privilege and needs to be earned, and you sure as heck aren't missing any school for a driver's license test.

Nope - I'm a city girl and live on the subway line. We bought a CR-V before LO was born and I think we have like 1500kms on it (in 6 months).

I can drive, got my license at 16, but don't drive because transit is so good here. I drive occasionally.... maybe twice a month.

Got my license at 16. First car at 23. I drove it maybe 5 times, dh is my chauffeur. I live in NYC and taing the train is so much easier

I drive occasionally, but DH is the main driver when we go out as a family.

I drive but didn't start driving until I was 24 (never had to, public transit was good enough). But when I started working, I had to shorten my commute so I got a car and have been driving every day since.

Yes, I was older .. 18? My parents were so super protective. *eye roll* I love driving!

I drive every weekday... way more the DH. So on the weekends, he usually drives.

I have had a license since I was 20 but I don't drive. I live in NYC, so it's not an absolute necessity, but I'm going to have to start to drive LO around.

I also drive more than DH And prefer to drive if we're together.

Got my license on my 16th birthday. Drive everywhere b/c I currently live in a rural area. But when I lived in big cities with public transportation I really liked it.

I know how to drive, and I've known how to drive since I was 14... I just don't have a license!! DH has informed me I need my license before LO2 is born, so I've got til January to get one. ugh!

Got my license at 17. Nothing like being the only 16 year old in California who doesn't drive!

Got my license at 16. I haven't regularly driven a car since high school though, and I'm over 30. I have always lived in big cities with public transit since I was 18 and I've never owned a car. I hate driving, so there is no reason for me to be behind the wheel.
