Both my parents and ILs cook at home..aka my mom and MIL. 
My parents eat out more often than ILs do, as they have a bigger social circle. ILs sometimes dine out at the casino (FIL's hobby).
But they definitely don't eat takeout, or eat out like our generation does.

omg - we eat out SO much! We eat out lunch almost every single day and quite a bit on weekends.

My parents only eat out every Friday and on special occasions so we definitely eat out more than them. My ILs probably eat out more than us though because they eat out a lot for lunches and dinner where we're mostly dinner and lunch on the weekends.

My mom is a 'homemaker' and makes everything from scratch. It's awesome. But totally unrealistic in my life. I'm out of the house working from at least 7am to 5:30pm, some nights, I'm gonna call in pizza!

His parents eat out very rarely - like once every 3 months or so.
We eat out more than his parents, less than mine.

My MIL almost never eats out. Like, once every several months. My FIL eats out multiple times/week I think. My parents eat out 1-2 times/week.
We eat out 1-2 times/week-- so same as my parents, less than my FIL, more than my MIL.

I think we're all about the same. My dad travels during the week for work, so he eats out more than anyone, but we're all pretty moderate with the eat out/eat at home balance. My inlaws eat out a lot, because my MIL doesn't cook very well.

We probably eat out about the same amount. My parents may eat out a little more often...they're foodies and love trying new places. My dad is actually the cook in our family (he loves to cook), and I know he cooks dinners most nights during the week.

Growing up we never ever ever are out, partly because we lived fifteen minutes from the newest restaurant. My parents moved to and are closer to one now so they go out more often than we do, especially now that LO goes to bed early.
My mom totally judges me for my use of frozen lasagnas and precooked fish from Costco and my crockpot use! She is quite the homemaker. I just can't live up to it!

Definitely. My ILs only go out when we're visiting them. My parents go out more than that but not too often.

We used to eat out about the same (1-2x per week) but since having LO, we rarely eat out now...hopefully now she's in her high chair and can stay awake a bit longer, we can start.

Yes! We're out a couple times a week, or getting takeout at least. Our parents on both sides go out maybe once a week, tops.
