Do you enjoy getting a mani/pedi? I'm sitting here getting a pedi right now and while I love the end result I don't enjoy the actual experience...I find the cuticle pushing/cutting to be uncomfortable and I hate waiting for my nails to dry!

No. Not at all, actually. I used to get acrylics all the time, and I didn't mind that, but manis/pedis...*shudder*
I can handle a mani more than a pedi, but like you said, I HATE the cuticle pushing, I despise the pumicing of my feet, and I get grossed out by putting my feet in something other people's dead skin has been marinating in. Blah.

No. I like the final product, but get really impatient having to sit through them.

@hilsy85: Hahahaha, no prob. As you can tell, I feel very strongly about this.

@hilsy85: @ms.janedoe: At least you didn't use . . . fermenting?

I hate how long it takes. But I do appreciate my nail lady's thoroughness

I love manis and pedis, but I don't get them often so they are a real treat!

Nope. I am very ticklish and what they do during a pedicure drives me BONKERS. Seriously, when I have had them in the past, you could find me clinging to the vibrating chair, lifting my butt up because of the tickles.

@hilsy85: I'm with you! Its a means to an end. I don't like the actual pedicure.

Pedicures? YES. Manicures? Not so much. I looooove pedicures. So relaxing!

I love getting both, especially pedicures! I haven't had them in a long time, since I'm paranoid about the chemicals in the nail polish with pregnancy and haven't bothered to order the 'safe' ones, plus I'm trying to be good with the little expenses that add up. But I really would like one right now.
I am ticklish, but only in the middle of my feet and can usually control it.

I like pedicures although I am very ticklish so it can be tough going. I really enjoy spa pedicures, all the foot rubbing and massaging with honey and whatnot is heavenly.

I love it, I do hate for the nails to dry, but pedicures are my favorite.

Love it. Especially all the cuticle pushing and skin clipping! That stuff drives me bananas...glad to pay someone to remove it. Slough away!

I guess it depends on the person doing it. I usually don't like it and I hate the cuticle part. I suppose you could tell them to skip it?
But there was this one place, when I went to college, that I loved getting pedicures from. They did a nice job, were always gentle and almost always almost put me to sleep when they would massage my legs and feet. I miss that place.

hate them! i've been putting off getting one, and it's the only reason i'm glad it's been a little cold out!

Love them both. I love sitting in the massage chair.

I love the end result but HATE the cuticle pushing/cutting as well...Sometimes they are so rough!

Yes! I am leaving the baby with my husband on Sunday and going to get both! I am pretty excited.

Love it all! I'm getting ma nails did tonight, gel polish FTW!

love getting pedis/ hate getting manis (can't read a magazine during/always afraid of chipping)
honeydew / 7687 posts
Nope. I only go if someone else asks and I'm trying to be nice but honestly strangers rubbing on my feet weirds me out. And I hate the fumes!!
wonderful pea / 17279 posts
No I hate all the jamming and poking and scraping that goes on. Thr foot soak isn't bad.
honeydew / 7667 posts
I love them. Maybe you could ask that they be more gentle? I've never had a problem.

I love pedicures! And I like manicures when I go to this one girl locally. SHe is super nice and my age so we just chat the whole time.
pomegranate / 3003 posts
I really like the end product, and don't mind sitting through the process, too much. I absolutely love the leg massage that come along with pedicures, but I am extremely ticklish when it comes to the pumice stone.

I didn't used to enjoy either. Well, I enjoyed eaves dropping on conversations around me...
Now that they happen about 1 x a month I not only enjoy the shizzit out of them, I appreciate them so. much. more

Love the results of mani/pedi/hair appts but hate the process. Always feel like I'm wasting time just sitting there doing nothing...
Now, like @FILLY said, droppin me some eaves can keep me entertained.

I'm sort of shocked that so many people don't enjoy them, I LOVE pedicures!
bananas / 9628 posts
sometimes! today i did because i went with SIL and we got to hang out & chat, but sometimes it's awkward to sit there while you get a mani, pedi less so 'cause you can read or just sit back & relax. it sucks when they're too rough though!
nectarine / 2217 posts
ouch!! i don't enjoy the actual cleaning part at ALL, but i like watching them put on the polish, and of course i love how it feels and looks at the end!
