I usually don't. Their behavior doesn't embarrass me or anything it just adds at least an hour to my trip, I usually end up covered in sweat (please tell me I'm not alone!), and always always forget something and/or spend more than I intended. I generally don't enjoy it that much anyway, so adding the extra work doesn't help.

I used to dread grocery shopping with the kids! Now that they're older though, it's a lot more fun to go out in public with them. Except we don't have grocery stores here, so haven't experienced that one in about a year or so. I think they would love it though... they would run straight to the pickle aisle and beg for pickles, because they are hard to get here!

I was ok shopping with my son before he discovered mini shopping carts and insists on using one. Now the trip is stressful bc I'm afraid he's going to run into me or someone else when he's pushing it around the store. He's also usually wherever I need to be. At least he doesn't just throw random things in the cart?? It's so much easier to go alone or just with the baby. Though that has its own issues

I always feel like supermom when we get back.
They're pretty well behaved but I usually get suckered into a box of questionable character snacks or cereal to appease the kiddos. -
I like taking the baby, because he's only 6 months, I wear him so it's easy, and everybody tells me how cute he is. I haven't taken B since W was born but I didn't mind as long as my husband also came, because he wouldn't go in the cart so it took one person to run around with him and one to do the actual shopping.

I don't mind with my 13 month old. He rides in the Ergo and smiles at everyone. Although when he wants to walk it is not fun - he pulls everything off the shelves!
@mrs. sunshine I also always end up covered in sweat and tired after running errands with my baby. We live in Florida and it's hot, and just the work of picking him up, carrying him, juggling everything, in and out of the carseat, etc. I feel like that is a workout!

I used to not mind it with my toddler. It was an activity, she was entertained, and generally t just wasn't bad. With two? NO. Even when they behave it is stressful. And now even with just the toddler everything takes 3 times as long and she always has to go potty while we are there. At least she will still sit in the cart (the one nice part of her wanting to do what the baby does I guess)

@pregnantbee: mini shopping carts are the bane of my existence. My daughter gets upset if we don't go to the "little cart store" (aka Trader Joe's) but when we do she is totally a threat to public safety.
I prefer to take her only to places that have lots of samples so she is interested in snacking instead of running around- I find it's pretty impossible to shop and watch her if she isn't sitting in the cart. If we are going somewhere that doesn't have samples, I pack her lunch and she eats it in the cart.

I feel exactly like you. I've learned I'm a much more organized and efficient shopper when I don't have to take them with me.

I usually end up forgetting things or buying extras that were not on the list when LO goes with me. Aldi with LO usually goes well because it's small and there aren't as many things to tempt him like hot wheels at the end of the freezer aisle at our Kroger!

I'm so so lucky in that my toddler walks nicely and doesn't mess with stuff but she wants to go potty 60 times (because she likes looking at the bathrooms), and asks for 80 billion things to eat. DD2 isn't super great at the store. She gets bored quickly. She also super high sleep needs and it takes us at least 20 minutes to get anywhere so the trips can really screw with her schedule.
@MrsADS: I'm glad I'm not the only sweaty one!

@jhd: we just went to Aldi for the first time today and I had to take the girls and it went way better than our larger store trips generally go. I definitely agree, and the smaller size helps me to stay more organized/be less overwhelmed by products.

@Mrs. Sunshine: I go to Aldi almost every week and take LO with me. I have found it is just the right size for DS and he usually does well. He likes to walk and I try to let him put the stuff in the cart. But I have never had two. I sometimes get worn out with just one LO!

@jhd: I liked taking DD1 when it was just she and I. I think it has to do with my kids differing personalities and I can't focus to save my life. lol they're great kids, I just can't get my thoughts together, even with a list!

@Mrs. Sunshine: glad my LO isn't the only one who has to try every bathroom. We went in a neighbors house during a block party and now she keeps trying to go back!
@Anya: peapod is my favorite. So worth a few extra dollars, which j would have spent on random crap to keep my toddler happy anyway!!

Yep. I'm a sahm so I did all my errands with my daughter - thankfully she's super well behaved so I enjoy her company

I enjoy it. To be honest, it's very, very rare that I ever grocery shop without them, so it's just our normal. I usually put two in the cart, and then either I wear the baby or my oldest walks. They're usually pretty fun and helpful and stay on "okayish" behavior. We make it work and I always bribe them with fruit leathers.
I get kind of lonely without them! They're my shopping buddies.

Like you it takes a long long time! My son likes to help create a shopping list, using drawings, and beginning sounds, helps me to remember what to buy. My baby is usually in the carrier observing it all. I find that when I have the kids, other customers let me go ahead of them! Going as a family is torture. My husband has less patience and we will forget things because it ends up with him getting angry with my son's behavior and we leave quickly.

I actually enjoy it! My 3.5 year old sits in the cart and I wear the baby (6 months old). The baby usually just sleeps or smiles at everyone and my daughter and I have fun conversations while we walk around the store. She also likes to "help" me by putting items (that I hand to her) into the shopping cart.
The only thing I dislike is trying to help the person bagging groceries while the baby is strapped to me because sometimes can be difficult. (I'm very OCD about how my bags are packed, so I always help out.......or completely take over!)

Yeah I like it. I never go alone so we are all used to it. Baby in her seat or carrier and ds sits or walks if we just need a couple things.

I used to like it with my toddler. It was something to do, he's pretty good and helpful. But with a baby either he's in the carry and there's no space for food, or he's in a carrier and it's harder to control the toddler. And things like lifting a watermelon out of the box while wearing an infant are pretty hilariously difficult

It's okay. I prefer when we all go as a family and there are two adults to entertain the toddler. She's getting into the age where she sneaks stuff onto the counter, which I do not approve of and usually it ends with a tantrum.

Uggh I hate it!!! I don't like grocery shopping at all and the stores by us never have enough lanes open. It's so stressful. I've taken to getting up earlier than everyone else if I have to be the one to do the shopping.

Yes to the sweating! DD likes looking around, but by the time I get her out of her carseat and into the Boba I'm already sweaty!

Not alone! And only at certain stores; we like going to this one huge place on the weekends where they have tons of samples; DD is super occupied with eating and therefore very compliant haha.

I do enjoy it - she's my fun little shopping buddy. The only thing that annoys me is that she loves using one of those "police car" front carts which are hard as hell to steer and LO loves to grab all grocery items and put them into bags/the cart and it takes *forever* for her to get out of the cart, grab the veg, throw it into the cart, get herself back into the cart-seat thing....rinse and repeat. Other than that, she's awesome

@yoursilverlining: same. I don't mind at all taking her with me. She gets a cookie and just sits there. I just hate those damn carts so she can drive. Hard to steer and don't hold as much. Luckily she doesn't put things in the cart!

My son is a pleasure, when he wants to be. What's annoying is that he usually asks for something from the toy aisle and I have to explain the entire trip why I am not buying him anything.

I love grocery shopping when one of them is napping.
I usually enjoy taking DS if they have those toddler shopping carts he can push. It makes him so happy to push it around and get the groceries himself. He's pretty good about not hitting people with it too. DD is too little to push it and often has her own ideas of what we need to buy for the house. -
I like shopping with her. She really enjoys the trip and generally behaves really well. I just have a hard time getting all of the groceries in when I am alone with her. We live in a large apartment building with a decent walk from where we park.
Typically I take her with me on one of DH's days off - he gets some time home alone but we all bring the groceries in together.

THEY love going with me. I, however, can shop much more quickly when I'm alone and I don't spend nearly as much when they sit it out. They literally eat the entire trip. A pint of berries, tons of deli meat, begging for crackers and treats LOL. I do it with them about 50% of the time.

Actually, I do! It was a bit iffy when he was 2, but thankfully it was a phase. It was more because he didn't want to sit in the cart than anything. I love all the conversations and comments he provides while we shop. He even knows we need to pick up certain things and insists on putting them in the cart himself. I just get nervous when it's bananas or eggs, but what can you do. We've definitely gone home with some severely bruised bananas that even banana bread would reject! lol

I love going with my almost 4yo. He still loves to sit in the cart and he's my helper. Plus he loves that there is always samples!

I have no problem taking my 18 month old but she doesn't particularly enjoy it, so I try to go by myself.
I get kind of lonely without them! They're my shopping buddies.
