We apologize to our upstairs neighbor whenever we see her the next day after a late night crying fit... I will catch her eye and she will smile so nicely at me, and I will feel even worse. I usually apologize and she says she doesn't mind at all.

I try to do little things for her (help her out with chores, get her stuff like potting soil when she asks) just to be a good neighbor... and to repay the karma gods!!
