Before our trip, I bought 14 different bathing suit pieces from Lands End online. They shipped to me free and I took 12 pieces back to the store in our Sears after I tried everything on!
Do you buy in bulk to make sure you get items in your size with out having to try on in store?

I've heard about people doing that with Zappos shoes!
I am way too lazy to actually return something, so I would never do that or I would own like 6 pairs of sneakers in the wrong size.

I do it all the time. I hate shopping in store so I buy most everything online. I just bought 6 dresses from Zappos last week and returned 5 today. Free shipping both ways is my friend.

Yup-- definitely with Zappos, and if places have free shipping over a certain amount and accept returns in store, I will too (like I bought 6 or 7 variations of bathing suits at the Gap and returned all but one). J Crew was offering free shipping on swimwear this summer and didn't have swimsuits in store, so same deal. I just have to be careful to return in time!

i do that with zappos and i did it with asos. free shipping each way! and i usually keep more than i would if i had to pay for shipping.

Yes. All the time... sometimes I "buffer" my order up to get the free shipping minimum with no intention of keeping the items.

@purplepumps - I thought about doing that to qualify for free shipping. Do they ever go back and charge you the shipping costs if the amount you returned drops your total below the free shipping minimum?

Yes I do this all the time to make sure that I get the right size! Manufacturers are so inconsistent that I never know what size I should be ordering. I love that Nordstrom never gives me trouble when I'm returning the items that don't fit.

ONLY if there is free in-store returning allowed. I am way to lazy to reship the stuff back

@MungBean: Nope. They don't go back and charge shipping if you return part of the order... or even all of it. And at places like Victoria secret, where they have free panty codes all the time, I've actually legitimately had to return everything cause nothing fit, and just kept the free panty no problem.

Ummm, so am I the only one who read this title of thread and thought someone was going to Costco and buying a 24 pack of paper towels and then returning 22 rolls. LOL! I'm silly!

I always try things on in the store and ask myself if I absolutely love the item. If I do I buy it

Always, especially if it gets me free shipping and I know retuning will be easy. It's so much easier to shop and try things on in the comfort of my home and it beats hunting for sizes.

Does anyone's DH ever get worried when 5 pairs of shoes show up at the door? Mine still does even tho he's come with me to return stuff before!
