I think 14 or 15 is my record?
Have you ever prepared food for a large group?
I would love to do it for my kid's parties but I always get lazy and just order food.

I cooked for LO's birthday party for 40 people, but I'm not going to lie, it was pretty easy what I did.

Yup, DD 1's first birthday was for 40. We also threw a surprise anniversary party for my ILs one year. I think that was 50+?

Yes, DH is a big fan of inviting the whole family home for birthdays. The record was 21 people. That was a LOT of cooking! You can totally save time by getting at least some prepared food, and making quick things like sandwiches and mashed potatoes

Yea I hate catering food bc it's always ridiculous what you pay per portion. The most I think was 40ish

Yes, I'm totally comfortable cooking for a crowd. We have had parties with 40+ people several times.

DH is very used to and good at cooking for large crowds! Esp he has a bigger family than mine, and we're always hosting at home or at church.

I've cooked for 35. Did turkey and sides for close to 100 a few times!

I've volunteered at a few different places to cook for large groups:
a local non-profit that cooks and then distributes to area community centers and churches who hold the dinners - the dinners serve 200+ people (I cook with a team of 3-4 other people and we prepare main, sides and dessert)
Ronald McDonald House - usually about 20 people.
I also cook for all of LO's birthday parties and do that cooking by myself (easier that way, bit of control freak about day-of stuff like food ), have been 15-30 people at her parties.
ETA: oh, almost forgot. I've cooked Thanksgiving a few times for a local homeless veterans shelter where I think there are about 25 guys. Did the whole thing by mahself, appetizers to dessert.

I'm pretty comfortable cooking for large groups - we do several parties a year at our house and I usually end up cooking a full meal or lots of heavy appetizers for 15-30 people.
My record is Thanksgiving for 80 people when I was studying abroad and we did Thanksgiving for all of the exchange students. I certainly didn't do it by myself, but I was the organizer and made the turkey, mashed potatoes and dressing.

I prefer to cook rather than bring food in. It keeps the cost down and I actually enjoy it. DH hates it as he doesn't like to see me going crazy in the kitchen while we throw parties but I genuinely like it!
