DD has become OBSESSED with her turtle that lights up stars on the ceiling. She'd never really been interested in it before until last week I turned it on and showed her how it can project onto the walls. She is CRAZY about it now and it's all she wants to do - grab the turtle, turn it on and close the door so she can sit in the corner and look at the starts. I've kinda had my fill right now, so I hid it in the closet. Am I being mean? I'll take it out again in a few days....I just need a break!

Oh heck yes I do. Although it does move a toy up a few notches in my book if LO loves them so much... I have no problem putting away things I am sick of. Nice of you to only put it away for a few days and not into the donation pile

@Shellio - Definitely not in the donation pile! Just out of sight for a little bit. In all it's a pretty harmless toy - no annoying music, etc - but she HAS to have it, and she thinks you have to close the door to see the stars, but then gets upset because she doesn't know how to open it back up again.

Yep! I had to hide his Five Little Monkeys book because I got so sick of reading it. I brought it back after a few days but DH and I were monkied out!

I just move them to the car and make them car toys. I can handle them for a short drive plus it keeps LO entertained.

@autumnlove: I recently heard on our local news that the FP remote "should" be recalled but they are saying it's fine. I guess the sound is WAY higher than it is supposed to be because kids can hold it to their ears! We've retired ours for now, esp because she uses everything as a phone lately!

I sometimes hide the "quiet, loud" book at the bottom of the pile when I just can't read it one. more. time. Then we went to a playgroup and she found the same book there! Curses!

That remote control and the first words animal names book. We rotate toys, so we all take a break for a couple days. Really though, if he loves a toy and it keeps him busy, I'm much more forgiving of it's annoying qualities!

The VTech laptop we had was so so annoying, and then it started skipping and repeating the same phrase over and over again. So one night after LO went to bed, the laptop somehow landed up in the garbage. Oops!

@Bestyboop - funny, our VTech push toy was one of the most annoying toys. It got "loaned" to a friend with a younger babe.
