Haha, nope, we don't do that. My mother does speak in Italian when she doesn't want my son to understand, but my son is bilingual in the language I could use with my husband, so that defeats the purpose, lol.

yup..all the time. if she hears a "key word" she latches onto it, and hell breaks loose if I don't deliver.

LO's still too young to catch on to actual words but we spell out words for our dogs all the time. t-r-e-a-t, w-a-l-k, etc. I think they actually know what those mean now... lol

Haha, oh yeah! It used to just be milk (I'm pretty strict about milk only for bedtime, so I don't want to hear the whining!!)
Now we've had to start spelling 'swing', and I'm sure more are to come!

L is still too young to figure even the words themselves out so we have a while before we have to start spelling again.
We do WALK & TREAT for the dog. hah.

Yes for sure. The funny thing is my 3 yo tries to do it to although he has no idea what he's doing. He'll be like "Hey Mami!! S-C-S-C-P-W." And I'm like, "Ohhhhhhhh."
It cracks me up.

Yep, just started doing this recently so he doesn't hear any words that may cause a meltdown. Usually words to my husband are "brush" for brush teeth meaning let's get ready for that, or "park" as in let's go to the park soon. If my son hears these words, look out!

Oh yeah.
If my 15 mo DD hears WALK, PARK, or OUTSIDE, all hell breaks loose. She must immediately stop what she is doing and round up her shoes, jacket, hat, sunglasses, purse, and water bottle (yes, all of that!) - then she follows me around and whines until we actually go outside.

Used to...until he learned to read.
We do it to our dogs but I think they're starting to catch on!
