I read that white noise can help some adults drown out anxious thoughts and fall asleep more easily. Kind of similar to leaving the TV on at night.
Was wondering if anyone has tried it out?

I guess I technically do through the monitor?
I still have anxious thoughts, though. Maybe my anxiety is too loud?

I've slept with it on when she slept in the same room as me. I find it soothing.

We hear our LOs' white noise through the monitor and have come to depend on it! I'd never slept with white noise before and thought it was annoying at first, but now I like it. We did have to switch them from "babbling brook" to ocean waves, though because we constantly had to pee with the running water noises. I like it through the monitor because it's a little staticky which adds to the white noise-ness, haha.

Always! We used to use a really loud fan (we actually tested in the store to see which was loudest), but we got a Marpac Dohm as shower gift last time, so we use that. We plan to co-bed, so it will still wind up being used for LO, right? We'll probably buy a second for her room as well, when she needs it. We LOVE it, and take it on vacations, etc.

I tried it when we got married because of DH's snoring. But his snoring was too bad for it to work and I ended up with earplugs anyway so that defeated the purpose.

I do, only because my husband always has. It used to annoy me at first, but I don't even notice it any more.

We purchased a marpac dohm for our room and sleep so much better! Can't be without one now.

We've been using on lately for lo since we are temporarily living with family while our house is being renovated and A is sleeping in the room with us. But I really love it and will likely continue when we are moved into the house. I use an app on my iPhone.

A fan. Dh needs white noise to sleep. When DS slept in our room we had his noise machine with us in there and DH loved it! Too loud for me though.

A fan. All year long. When we're somewhere that we don't have a fan, I use a white noise "song" I downloaded to my phone's music library (burns WAY less battery than the app I used to use).

Yes! We got used to the marpac when DS slept in our room that we bought another one for ourselves when he started sleeping in his room. Love it! We take it when we travel too.

Nope, I like complete silence. I can do a fan that's about it.

We hear it through the baby monitor, but I use one in my room anyway when I sleep during the day after a night shift.

Couldn't sleep without it! We have the same one that's in both of the boys' rooms. It's the best thing ever.

I use a white noise machine when I stay over at my parents home because their house is just loud, lol.
At home, we have an air purifier running and it has a white noise kind of sound.
