Last night Charlie vomited all over his crib. I happened to be sleeping next to him, because he had trouble getting to sleep. I cleaned him up and got him back to sleep, then cleaned up the crib and carried him back to the crib to go back to sleep.
As I was carrying my newly clean son to the crib and preparing to go back to sleep next to him (to make sure he didn't vomit again), I felt a surge of pride. "I'm a great dad!" I thought to myself. *pat pat pat* I almost broke my arm patting myself on my back.
I told Bee about my self assessment this morning, and she laughed. She said only a man would think something like that. I was surprised that she never thinks about what a great mom she is. She's a great mom! I guess she just focuses on getting the job done, and not on how great she is.
Anyway, do you ever think about what a great mom or dad you are? What about your SO... do they ever break their own arms patting themselves on the back?
