I keep calling Smokey the cat "Olive" (our daughter's name). Argh! Well, better than calling my daughter Smokey, at least!
Do you ever use your pet's name to refer to your LO? Or vice versa?

My parents call DS the dog's name all the time! We haven't yet, but a friend of ours calls their daughter their dog's name and vice versa all the time.

All the time! Doesn't help that the dog has a human name (Ben) and DS's name isn't that far off (Dez, short for Desmond)

We keep mixing up our baby's and younger dog's names. And also we keep calling her bassinet her crate and the pediatrician her vet... We've been dog-parents for 5 years and baby-parents for 3 weeks, it's going to take some time to adjust, lol!

No LO yet, but I struggle with not telling kids to "release" or "drop it" when they have something they shouldn't. Definitely the commands we use for our dogs...

Haha yes we constantly call our son by our cats name and vice versa! They are both our babies so it makes sense I suppose.

I remember my mom constantly calling my the dog's name as a kid. I just thought she was crazy but I'm totally guilty of calling DH the cat's name (and the cat has a very silly name).
