Not for real, but I swear they barely play with their toys. They prefer the bathroom drawer, a basket of clothes, cabinet of dvds. They have so many nice toys I wish they would get some use out of them. I've definitely learned over the past year that less is more but we still have too much that doesn't get touched.

Yes. I'll look through her toy basket and wonder why we ever got her half of what she has. So frustrating.

Yep. I think I think this once every couple of weeks, esp on the lazy days that I don't feel like cleaning and wonder why or how we ended up with so many toys.

over the holiday break, we took a couple trash bags full of junky toys she wasn't playing with and got rid of them. Most were kind of broken (already used), etc. I only want to keep the things she's actually interested in. The list is now small: puzzles, blocks, Goofy...etc.

We did a massive purge, and now we have mostly blocks, magnetic tiles and playdoh!

Yep, I wonder a lot too. In fact when we travel I don't bother to bring toys along. When we get home they love all their toys again.

My kids play with most of their toys right now! I rotate stuff in and out a lot.

Yes especially since we were just on vacation and they had not a toy in sight and were super happy.

I'm going to clean out the toys in the next week or two. Lots of things just sit there. The bigger trucks and things I'm going to put away to be outside toys this spring.

Yes, the toys in her room barely ever get played with (same with the toys in the basement) I could get rid of 1/2 the stuff and she wouldn't even know I bet! But I don't because I would feel bad since most of it is gifted.
And I get the very sudden urge now that she's throwing toys in frustration/tantrums. I bag it up if she throws it as a punishment and I would love to just toss the bag, but she knows she gets it back when she's calmed down and apologized.

I've started doing a toy rotation because DS was either bored with everything he had, or there were way too many options. Anything I couldn't remember him playing with recently I cleared out for a few weeks. Then I gave him back a few things to see if he'd play with them. If he does, I keep them in the rotation. If he's still uninterested, they'll either be put away for baby 2, or go in the give away pile.

YES. Everytime I try to close my pantry, the door gets caught on one of their many ride on toys.

We did a big purge before christmas but its bad again! I also had some items boxed in his closet that I knew had some resale value, well once he found them packed away- he decided he loves them!

Yes. Our two older boys play with lego and GI Joes, I wish I could toss all the rest of their toys because I haven't seen them played with in years.
L has so many toys and he would much rather play with lego and GI Joes and cars, all of which are not his but his older brothers!

We only get things out for a short time, so he does tend to play with them a bit, especially when he plays independently in his room. If he is in the living room or kitchen with me he would much rather play in the drawers though 
I think rotating really does help us though. He is finally (at almost 2) starting to actually "play".
