Yes and no. I think the icons are adorable and the idea of blogging sounds fun, but I think I'd feel a lot of pressure with the commitment. I also feel like a lot of bloggers have just disappeared...where did they go?
GOLD / papaya / 10206 posts
Nope, I'm not a writer at all! I really enjoy hostessing though
honeydew / 7091 posts
I wanted to just so I could have that chipmunk icon. But, I have nothing to say and I'm a horrible writer. And kinda flaky... haha. I would definitely make a terrible blogger.
pomegranate / 3393 posts
ooh, I've been meaning to ask! Can someone explain the icons to me? And the Mrs ______ thing? Is it just a Hellobee convention or is there a story there?
blogger / nectarine / 2608 posts
Ha ha ha. I am SO jumping the gun on all of your posts today and misreading the intentions. Like not waiting for someone to finish their sentence and answering anyway. Usually with some really horrific TMI or something. I was going to jump in and say, "No! I would not want to be a blogger." I like it. It's fun. But I promise we don't all sit around together drinking margaritas and having secret club meetings or anything. Actually, I am pretty sure I would trade lives with most of you in a heartbeat. Well, at least for a couple of days.

I use to blog a long time ago. I meet a lot of great friends from it, in fact one of my best friends was total stalker for a while and every time people ask how we meet depending we say "pen pals" but if its someone that's cool we say internet stalker!
I don't think I will ever got back to blogging. It's actually quite a bit of work! Also you have to give a lot of yourself to it and be willing to take possible negative talk from people. I don't think I'm thick skinned anymore.

@MoonMoon: Bee wrote up the story behind icons here, for an old site we used to run!

As for pressure and where the bloggers go, I really love how relaxed everything is. I write when I can, and when I feel like and there is zero pressure. And, actually, there's a lot of support. I do sometimes think it would be fun to have my own "place" for writing because I'm a little more... rough, maybe? When I don't have positive influences around to tone me down. But not enough that I've tried to do anything about it. Someday I'd love to start a site for support and community for parents of children with mental health issues and/or who are on the spectrum. I feel like in real life we miss one another most of the time, and it's an amazing feeling to be able to connect with people who share some of the same concerns and struggles and triumphs.

I want to be a blogger! I just don't know if I have time to write regular, quality posts.
blogger / nectarine / 2608 posts
@Arden: DO it! Join the dark side and have margar... I mean, um... write with us and stuff.
pomelo / 5228 posts
Nah, I couldn't keep up with it. I do hope some new people apply though, we need some new mamas to keep up with!
nectarine / 2192 posts
Yes, but TTC#1, so don't have a lot that others would be interested in reading.
GOLD / wonderful olive / 19030 posts
No, I'm not interesting or creative enough to blog, however I would chose the butterfly, they are close to my heart
coconut / 8234 posts
I wanted to be one at some point, but I don't know that I would make the time to really do it justice. Mrs. Pen stole my favorite icon I don't want to be an animal.
cantaloupe / 6059 posts
If I had the time, I would love to be a blogger. I think it would be nice to have that outlet and I would love to be able to save the posts and look back at them in years to come.
blogger / wonderful cherry / 21616 posts
@mrsjazz: hahaha. It totally is the best
I enjoy it. I feel badly I can't do it as much anymore now that I'm in school but I do like it when I can do it.
GOLD / grapefruit / 4555 posts
With the troublesome twosome (and I say that lovingly) I think I could manage some interesting posts and I would enjoy writing them but I'm pretty sure I don't fit the demographic. I'm not very fashionable, rarely get professional pictures taken, and in very much need of a new camera (was gifted one but it doesn't take inside pictures well).
As for icons, almost all the ones I want are taken but I think it'd be lots of fun to be Mrs. Mother Goose or Mrs. Bear
blogger / pomelo / 5400 posts
@NaturallyCathy: That is exactly why you should do it. Demographic schmemographic. We don't want an echo chamber around here!
GOLD / grapefruit / 4555 posts
@Mrs. Yoyo: This. This is why I you. But you already knew I
you.
grapefruit / 4085 posts
Hmm, maybe. I enjoy blogging but have been a bit lax lately as I'm now blogging for some clients too. But I just said the other day that I have to get back into my own blog.
apricot / 348 posts
Yeah I'm tempted to apply! I loved their old site and wanted to blog there too but never got around to it but now that I'm pregnant and really enjoying researching and learning along this new journey I think it could be great! I'm British too and there are no English bees yet as far as I can ascertain! Hmm food for thought!
grapefruit / 4997 posts
No way, I prefer reading the blogs. My thoughts are all over the place and keeping a daily mom journal of one liners is about all I can commit to.
GOLD / grapefruit / 4555 posts
@mrbee: Is there a new generation in the works? I can't remember which ones are still available but I think most of them are taken, right? Especially in the current generation?
hostess / watermelon / 14932 posts
@NaturallyCathy: I think you'd be a great blogger!
personally, I am quite happy being a hostess
GOLD / grapefruit / 4555 posts
@sorrycharlie: Thanks hon I really want to but again, I'm not sure how I'd fit in. I'm pretty sure I don't fit the mold.
pomegranate / 3275 posts
I would love to blog for hellobee! I'm just worried that my writing isn't strong enough.
blogger / clementine / 750 posts
@NaturallyCathy: confession: I kinda wish I picked mrs. bear so I could call us Mama and Papa Bear!
hostess / wonderful apple seed / 16729 posts
I don't blog, so no, and I wouldn't be a good blogger anyway, because my writing sucks. Haha- Yup.
I would like to have a cool blogger name and title.
cantaloupe / 6869 posts
Nope. I hate writing and I wouldn't be comfortable putting my life out there like that.
GOLD / grapefruit / 4555 posts
@Mrs. Rabbit: Which is kinda why I want Bear! I'm 'mama' to my littles and hubs is 'dada' but I think he'd much prefer 'papa'. I call DS Little Bear sometimes (because I actually really liked that show as a kid) and when DD is being grumpy I call her grumpy bear... but I also see being called Mother Goose since I have two already, really close together, and we're planning on having a third one next year. Somehow three constitutes Mother Goose to me? Hehe But I love the original (rather dark) nursery rhymes
ETA: Of course if you really want bear and wouldn't mind giving me rabbit...
blogger / clementine / 750 posts
@NaturallyCathy: haha I used to have a thing for rabbits, but yeah, we're Mama and Papa over here. Mother Goose would be fun, too!
GOLD / cantaloupe / 6581 posts
@NaturallyCathy: oh screw the mold, I think you'd make a great blogger. You always write intelligent, lovely posts and I love hearing what you have to say. So there!
GOLD / grapefruit / 4555 posts
@Mrs. Rabbit: Funny, I still have a thing for rabbits. We actually got two bunnies last October They're really cute. I doubt we could trade but I'm pretty sure if I could be Mrs. Rabbit, DH would go with it!
