We are on our first road trip with baby. He is 6 weeks today. We are in a terrible accident-related traffic on I-90 and I've been hand pumping and just fed baby a bottle. There is no shoulder so we couldn't pull over. It feels like it could be dangerous, but I felt like I had no choice.
What would you have done? For the next feeding session I hope we can actually pull into a rest stop and nurse him, but it's not looking good. Not looking fwd to when a diaper needs changing!

@maybebaby: I have sat in the backseat and fed a bottle twice. Both were times we needed to go somewhere at exactly the time LO needed to eat.

Yep done it before. I've also had to lean over and nurse him...you gotta do what ya gotta do...

I think it's fine. But I'm sorry to hear you are caught in that traffic-- that's brutal even without a baby. Hope it clears up soon.

I've never done it, we usually wait until we can pull over. But I've also never been in that situation where you know you can't pull over for awhile.

I have fed my son in the seat, in an emergency. Otherwise, we always stop and I don't allow him to eat in the car (he's still rear facing and I am not confident that we'd handle a choking situation well).

I've leaned over her carseat and nursed her while DH drove! It was a clutch game time choice but it worked out okay if you as me! lol!

i've fed her a bottle in a car a couple times! even fed her fresh pumped milk out of the bottle without the nipple because we didn't have one! we live in so cal, so traffic sucks and we've been caught with her screaming!
