I always feel like an agitated teenager when I visit my parents! I'm trying to be more patient when I'm in their home...

haha great question!
i totally feel like a daughter and not as much of a mom because my mom takes care of me and the kids! i don't have to worry about cooking, cleaning... it's glorious!
then again she does nag me, but most of the time it doesn't really bother me.

@Mrs. Bee: +1!
I also feel like the baby sister that I am!

I have to beat down the agitated teenager that tries to rise to the surface. Especially now that I have a LO and rely on her to help us out when we visit. Having a baby really makes me realize just how much she went through to raise me so maybe I can take a few annoying comments without getting snarky..

I never feel like an adult around my parents or sister! Probably because they don't treat me like one

I've felt much more like an adult around my parents and family since I got married. My siblings are all much older than me and have been married for a long time, so I felt like I was in "kid sister" role for a long, long time.
However, I do still bicker with my mother which then makes me feel pretty childish later. Trying to get better at this!

Lol, now that I think about it I guess I don't feel like an adult there. I still feel like their child. My parents and I have a great relationship. It's nice to be cared for when I go to their house.

Yep, still feel like a teenager when I'm there. I make a point of paying for things when I'm there. They try to not have me pay, but I've been working, supporting myself and my family for years. My mom wasn't thrilled when we went and got food for LO because they didn't have much and we knew what he likes.

More so now than I used to. But when I go to my parents', it is really nice to have someone take care of me!

It took awhile, but after I got married, I started feeling more like an adult. Now that LO has arrived, it's really nice to go and have someone else take care of things like the dishes.

Agitated teenager is a great analogy! Normally I feel like an adult, but all it takes is a look from my Mom to make me feel like a little kid.

Agitated teenager! Except now it's legal for me to drink while I visit.

Agitated teenager. But that's because my mom still nags us and acts like she's the wisest person on earth. (Eye roll)

@Mrs. Bee: exactly this! My mom does everything!
Which is nice but I totally feel like an agitated teen sometimes too!

Not really, but I love spending time with them. There is nothing better than sitting in the porch swing on my grandparents' wraparound porch eating breakfast!

I feel like a kid again. I like being "taken care of" by my mom and she does it so well in her house.
@autumnlove: I do get agitated easily, though!
@Mrs. Bee: it's the best.

I feel like a pampered queen. They cook for me, they clean for me, AND they play with the baby. It's so glorious.

I feel like a kid bc they take care of everything! They even insist on it. Like when we're done eating, they tell me to leave my plate in the sink - they got it. Even if I start washing it, they'll tell me to leave it alone!

@cmomma17: me too!
Mine treat me like crap so I avoid them! They have a lot of problems
