Yes! Anytime I eat at restaurants I tend to gain--even when I order smarter choices. We eat more simply at home.

Yes! But I think it levels back out a few days after getting home. I think the majority of it is bloat/water weight and once I get back to my normal routine I'm good.

Not usually. I tend to go places with lots of walking opportunities, so it helps with the extra eating.

Yes but not usually much less than I would expect!! I typically think that I've gained 15 bls but most of the time its only a few pounds...

Depends on the type of vacation. A lay-on-your-ass-at-the-beach vacation I generally do. But a sightseeing vacation I generally don't because all the walking offsets the eating out for me. Also we tend not to eat 3 meals/day on vacation because we're just not used to eating that much. We usually do either a late breakfast and early dinner, or we do just a snack in the am like a luna bar, lunch, late dinner. So that probably helps. Also I find that any weight I do gain usually comes off within a few days. I think I retain water when I eat salty (i.e. restaurant) food easily and after 2 days of normal food and lots of water it falls back off.

Depends - I have before, but this year I didn't. We went to Samoa and the resorts that we stayed at had a big focus on fresh produce, meat and seafood, plus we were swimming each day. We also went to Melbourne and despite eating absolutely decadently, we also ended up walking about 10kms every day while sight-seeing. I think it depends on the holiday.

YES. I eat so many sweets on vacations... It's always worth it though

No, because I always vacation in places where we're really active sightseeing or just walking around. I usually come home and miss all the exercise. I'm not into laying around on vacation - I don't know how people do that! I can never seem to sit still.

For Christmas, I had a ton of Southern food and managed to lose weight.

Only on a cruise. They once told us on a cruise that the average person gains 8lbs on a 7 day voyage. I've never gained more than 4, and that was a 10 day cruise, so people must eat a ton!

Yes. Because my kind of vacation involves drinking and reading and being lazy by the beach :). None of that active shit, plz! I go on vacation to RELAX
@bananapancakes, that's insane. If it's true, that's an *extra* 3500 calories/day. GOOD LORD.
