Haha guys be wimps when having a cold! Almost all the guys in my family (include DH) are super wimps when it comes to having a cold. So weird. I don't know if it's a common thing or not.

I hope he feels better soon.

I don't think my husband is as whiny as some guys BUT I still get soooo annoyed when he is sick. It's mainly because I'm disappointed/frustrated that that means I'll have to do more/most parenting.
I try to hide my annoyance though bc obviously he's the one dealing with being sick and it isn't his fault. However yesterday when I knew he had gone home sick but thought with the cold he had been fighting and it turned out it was the stomach bug, yea I was walking around grumbling for a while as I took care of everything.

YES. We both admit we do not get along when he is sick. For exactly all of those reasons. It is mostly only when he has a cold bc I feel like he is acting sicker than necessary. I have a lot more sympathy when he is a lot less whiny lol. But then he gets annoyed because I'm unsympathetic. Then we don't talk for a few days.

ETA: All that is true but its just one of those ongoing bickering things. It isn't really a FIGHT we just get pissy with each other then get over it NBD lol

@petitenoisette: agreed, the frustration and disappointment of having to do things solo is exactly how I feel.

It's so not fair to be annoyed when my husband gets sick but yes I get very annoyed but I would be so mad if my husband was annoyed with me being sick!

@Foodnerd81: I get annoyed and don't consider it irrational! Ha! DH has a cold right now and has reminded me of it no less than 1,394 times in just the past 2 hours. I have been caring for a clingy, pitiful, sick one year old all week long while pregnant in the first trimester. No sir, not having it. I was raised that you work hard to try to be healthy--we were the types to be competitive about who would get over a cold first. So the "waah waahhh" stuff makes me insane. Ummm....can you tell this hits a nerve with me?

I get annoyed when it drags on a long time...which to me is more than one day in bed unless he really looks sick.

Last time I got annoyed because he refused to take the day off to see a doctor (and the kids and I got sick too) and then instead of coming home went to urgent care where you can always pick up something new, and left me longer with dd who was sick and needed a lab test, and I had been doing all the many night wake ups even when I got sick and he spent a couple days in bed. He really was sicker than me but I was just frustrated with the whole situation!

Ugh. The man cold 🙄

He does he doesn't get the man flu! I couldn't deal with that!

Lol!! I flipped out when he used to say, Oh now I can't touch the baby! And he eats fast food (comfort food) to make himself feel better.

My husband works and carries on his daily activities when he's sick but he is a borderline hypochondriac and always thinks whatever he has is super serious. He got another cold from DS and within a day was like "I have another sinus infection." I was like you neti pot twice a day, I guarantee you do not have a sinus infection. Or he thinks he needs to go to the ER or be seen for a Z-pack or something. And he's just Eeyore-ish when he's sick which is annoying.

But the worst is when he is sick with a cough I want to strangle him. It's not his fault, like he's not faking it and I know his dad has the same cough, but it's THE most dramatic I'm dying of pneumonia and tuberculosis exaggerated cough I've ever heard in my life. Like for a really long time I thought he was faking bc he will have these gasping, drowning coughing fits that sometimes lead to him throwing up and when he's laying in bed and a cough hits he bolts upright and sometimes runs to the bathroom - like so much drama!! And of course it's soooo loud so I wake up and I'm annoyed if it wakes DS in the MOTN. Sigh.

I get so freaking mad when DH is sick.... which is unfair because he totally mans up and powers through when he can and I'm a massive baby when I'm sick!! BUT I still get rage, especially when he has a stomach virus and really can't do any parenting. I'm just a bad person. And, ugh, when he gets a cold and snores really loudly, or coughs in the night, and I'm thinking "for God's sake, go sleep in the garage, I'm sick of your bullshit". *blush*

Yes! I feel like it's unfair that I still take care of the kids and the house when I'm sick, and he expects to be able to spend the entire day in bed when he has a minor cold. I try not to let my feelings show too much, but it is so annoying!

I do, yeah. Only because he refuses to take care of himself. He's had a cough since October.

Lol. DH can be pretty pathetic, BUT he tries to let me be pathetic when I'm sick, so I can't complain too much! The two issues I have: he doesn't always maintain the house when I'm sick, and if we are BOTH sick you can guess which of us is caring for DD!

This thread made me think of this commercial which I always found so funny and true.

@petitenoisette: OMG NOT A JOKE HE JUST HAD SUCH A VIOLENT COUGHING FIT THAT HE DROPPED AND SHATTERED HIS IPHONE - THAT WAS IN A SHATTERPROOF CASE. WTF.

I do get annoyed with him. I really shouldn't, because he is diabetic and literally can't do anything without his glucose going sky high and giving him ketones. But if I'm sick, I'm still expected to power through and cook dinner, take care of the kid, and generally keep life in order.

He did step up the last time I was sick, but I was in the ER for six hours and spotting. But most of the time, he's like, "woman up."
