Yes I give out lots of compliments to everyone in my life. But only if I really mean it. I HATE it when I can tell someone is fake complimenting me.

I don’t give out A LOT and I don’t usually pay people that I’ve just met compliments. I need to get better about that! My mom used to be a manicurist and she said that she gave everyone that came in some kind of compliment/found something nice to say about them. She said that it helped them relax and always put them in a great mood. And she always made sure they were sincere, even if she was just complimenting their shoe laces lol.

This article is so great - thanks for sharing! I compliment everyone constantly, though I think the trick is to focus on something you think they would like to hear. For instance, if you're in the grocery store line and the clerk has a really wild manicure, compliment them on it (that doesn't mean you have to be fake and say you love it if you really don't). It definitely puts everyone in a better mood and can open the door to some really nice small talk.
