When the kids were younger I tried to avoid taking them both to the grocery store because it just sounded difficult. I will take them now but by the end of the trip they are usually over it, and asking to leave. My grocery trips are pretty large though since we don't shop weekly.

I used to take DD all the time. Now with the new baby (2.5 weeks) I'm scared to go solo regularly - haha. Although we did have to go solo yesterday for a few things and it wasn't terrible, but we were in and out in 10 min.

Yup, all the time with all 3! The older girls enjoy it and the baby does fine in her car seat or carrier.

I only have one, but I do take her. It can either be a breeze or a small nightmare. We like Trader Joes because they have a stuffed raccoon hidden somewhere in the store - he rotates, weekly. A sighting can be redeemed for a prize.

I try to avoid it for trips that will take more than 20min. I used to do it a lot, but would leave a frazzled mess, without all the ingredients for the recipes on my list, so I prefer to go solo, or with DH also on the weekends.
Sometimes he is an angel the whole time, sometimes he burns out quick - you never know which LO is with you until you are too far in too abort mission.

Yes, all the time - they love it, my older especially. I don't think I've ever had a meltdown with either girl .

It's not that bad with all three i just don't like grocery shipping. I order online and pick it up, which stops me from buying chips and ice cream. -
I used to always take them but DD2 is getting kind of big to wear for me and they start to get bored. I go early Saturday mornimgs. Around 730 before DH goes out to work on his start up company that he works on the weekends. It's so nice going alone and before everyone else.
DD1 likes going though so sometimes we will go together and have a nice time.

Both my girls love it so we go together every week! They beg to not be left behind.

When I have to. When it was just C we went all the time and she was great (always always bring snacks). I have done trips with both of them but it's much harder- timing it so both are happy is tough, and it's harder even wth baby in the carrier. I try to quick trips when C is at her one drop off program so it's just me and the baby, or do a bigger trip on the weekend and leave them home, or do delivery.
It's also really hard because we are two flights up, so getting groceries and the infant seat and coaxing a toddler up the stairs... It usually ends in a tantrum. I prefer to pay for delivery.

DH usually does the weekly shopping trip on Sunday evenings after LO is in bed. So she rarely winds up in the grocery.

DS loves going to the store with me. At 4 years old he is quite the little helper.

Yup! DD1 loves going to Wegmans! DD 2 gets a snack when she gets restless and we're good. We go first thing on the weekend mornings when the stores are nice and quiet.

Yes! Especially at grocery stores where they have the race car carts where both kids can sit next to each other. They are both highly entertained at the grocery store and I will sometimes take them if we run out of things to do during the day.

I will only take both kids if I am with another adult. DD is nearly 4, and she is not a runner, but she can demand a lot of attention and its just too hard at the moment with both her and my 4 month old in a carrier AND trying to remember what I needed to buy.

@Ginabean3: omg we despise those things! They are such a pain to maneuver! Not to mention they lose its novelty after 15 minutes then we're stuck pushing this ginormous cart. No more!

Yup. I used to say that I never would because I expected my kid to be screaming, yelling, running etc. But it turns out she loves to shop, so it's a lot of fun.

Always with LO1. Now with her new brother, I try to go when she's in school bc it's hard to juggle two. I've had to do it couple of times and it's not that bad bc baby is in stroller but it does exhaust me afterwards.

Depends on the week, but sometimes. She loves going in the cart and looking around at the things and people. I'll likely be less excited to bring her when she is not so easily amused.

@regberadaisy: lol they ARE a pain to manuver....especially if the store is crowded...they wheels are always sticky and don't turn properly...but gosh my girls LOVE riding in it and I can shop in peace!!!

@Mrs. Champagne: me too. We go almost every day. But around here we just have small neighborhood grocery stores. I have 6 grocery stores within a 10 min or less walk.

I was, but this past week I ordered delivery and there are certain items you can buy to get free delivery, otherwise I think it's $10, so I'm planning to do that some weeks too. I will usually have the kids on my own on the weekends.

I used to take my oldest son when he was a baby, but as he got older, he started asking for things and would cry when I said no. It got to be too stressful taking him, because I would have to avoid certain aisles and keep him distracted to avoid tantrums. Now I have two kids, and I'm definitely not taking both grocery shopping!
My grocery store offers online shopping, which has been a lifesaver! I can order whatever I need on their website, pick a time to get it, and they bring the groceries to your car and load them too! Sometimes I will online shop, and then have DH get the groceries on his way home from work, so I don't even have to leave the house. The cost is only $95 a year for unlimited shopping trips. And the shoppers always pick fresh produce and meats, so I don't have to worry about getting things that look bad. If they are out of anything, they call me and will substitute accordingly.

Yep, but I only have 1 LO who's 10 months. she loves sitting in the shopping cart! She's a great shopper. Plus I normally just go to Trader Joes, and it goes pretty quick!
