I have a very small family as does Mr. Bee. Sometimes I used to wish for a bigger family, but my friends with big families always had some family drama going on.
I love the idea of a big family though, and we get older and we all have kids, I'd love to be able to gather everyone in one place over the holidays (our place that is!).

Nope! We have a small family. MIL doesn't have a relationship with her family at all, so it's just FIL's, and it's pretty small. My side is pretty small too. My dad has a big family but I don't really know them very well.
I wish we had a bigger family because I would love it if our future LOs had lots of cousins!! DH and I only have one sibling each.

Our immediate families are both really small. I guess our extended family is pretty big but everyone is spread out all over the world so that doesn't help for family gatherings. It would nice to have a big family that is local.

My mom has 3 siblings and my dad has 4. They also have a lot of close first cousins... This means I have a lot of first and second cousins. Also, I came from a family of 3 kids and my DH of 4... So our kids have lots of first and second cousins too. I love having a big extended family! There is a little drama sometimes, but rarely anything major.

not as big as DH's fam! my parents are each one of four siblings, but DH's dad is one of 13 and his mom, i believe, is close to that number! i loved having lots of cousins growing up.
i only have one sibling, and i don't anticipate he'll have any kids, and DH has two younger siblings and we hope they'll have LOs soon so our future LOs have cousins to play with =)

Yep, my grandmother was the oldest of 10 kids; I have extended relatives in 15 states. Six of of her siblings live within an hour of each other so we had lots of family gatherings when I was growing up and still get together for Christmas and July 4 every year. My mom is one of four and all but one live close to each other so they got together every Sunday until my grandparents both passed away now they get together about once a month. I have 7 cousins on my mom's side and 7 on my dad's side although we rarely see/saw my dad's side.
DH's family is much smaller.

I'd say it's pretty small. I have 2 uncles, DH has 2 uncles and 2 aunts. I think it's just the right size, not to much, keeps family drama to a minimum.

I do. My dad is one of 6 kids. I have tons of cousins. My mil is also one of 6. Her siblings didn't have that many kids though, so my husband has only 5 cousins. I have 20 something.

We both have huge families, his more local than mine. As a result, we actually see people less on his side because coordinating things is such a mess. Since my local family is do much smaller we end up doing things more often.

I have a huge extended family on my side. 60 cousins on my moms side, and like 35 on my dads side. DH has like no family! He has aunts he hasn't ever met and I think he has like 3 cousins. It is different to me because my family gets together almost every week.

My mom has 4 siblings and my dad has 6 siblings, but my dad's siblings live far away from us (Cali). However, each of his siblings has a lot of kids, but again we hardly see them.

I have a HUGE family, my Mom is one of 5 kids, my Dad is one of 6 and each of their siblings has 2-4 kids, so when you add up just my Aunts/Uncles/Cousins, we're over 100 people! Plus, my Mom and Dad were HS sweethearts so nearly all of their siblings and their families stayed in our small town (with the exception of one aunt who lives 45 minutes away) My husband was so blown away the first time he was around everyone!
