We pay $100 and our house is 1,900 sq ft. That's actually on the low end of normal around here.

No idea, we don't have one nor know anyone that does.

Not to thread jack, but are these companies everyone is using or independent people? I'm just surprised by the numbers being so low.. well, lower than I expected.

It's such a racket here in NYC. I have an 800 sq ft 2bed/1bath and I would pay $100 at a minimum if I hired a cleaning lady/service. It takes me and DH about 30 minutes to clean the place top to bottom so at this point we really don't mind going without help. I'm sure it will get more complicated once LO arrives, but honestly since we don't have a doorman we'd have to be there while she was cleaning anyway, so I really don't forsee us ever hiring one unless someone gifts it to us.

We use a local company. But we only have them come on an as-needed basis. I usually bring them in for a deep clean before we have important events in our home. So, they are only coming about 3-4x a year. They charge $175 for a deep cleaning of our 1700 sq. foot home.

@highwire: I have never thought about having them over for events in our home, that's brilliant and would take so much stress out of things for me!

I pay $110 for our 1100 sq ft apt in NYC. She cleans for 6 hours every other week. I've never seen my apt cleaner. She is amazing and so worth it!

We pay $100 for four hours of cleaning every other week. We can pick and choose what tasks she does in those 4 hours.

We pay $110 with tax for our 1200sq ft apt...it takes her about 4 hours.

$55 every other week for our 1200 sq ft home. She also brushes our dog. Central PA suburbs.

$100 weekly for our 2500 Sq ft home. She is usually here for 7-8 hours and will do a deep cleaning of the entire home plus some laundry. We are in a suburb of Los Angeles.

We pay $70 once a month for our independent cleaning lady to clean our 1200 sq. ft 2 BR/2BA condo. It takes her 3 hours.

Do you guys tip your independent cleaner on top of their fee?? We don't but I wonder if I should...

No clue, we don't have a cleaning service and I don't know anyone who has one.

My service is $100 each monthly visit. If they came more often it would be $80.

@Meridian: I don't tip but give her a nice Christmas/Summer bonus since her rates are so cheap and te amount of cleaning she does in four hours is amazing

We pay $130 for 1x a month. We have an independent lady who cleans our 2 BR/3 BA loft in San Fran. It generally takes her about 6 hours and she does a great job! I can't imagine getting rid of her now unless one of us lost our job!
