I always loved my gym membership - but for sake of time I am finding DVDs are more efficient and easier to fit in.
do you have any favorites? I have tried about a week of 30DS and thinking of getting that one and actually finishing it.

I love 30DS for a good, quick workout. I also really like Jillian Michaels' 6 week 6 pack.

@Mrs. Pen: That's why I do workout DVDs...going to the gym is too much of a time commitment when you factor driving there, working out, then driving home.
I love 30DS (just finished day 23 last night!). I'm going to do Ripped in 30 next.

I think Shred is ok. I am doing Insanity and it is hard and takes longer. I really miss the gym and classes. Videos get SO boring for me.
I want to try T25!

I want to try P90X3.
@grizz: @Smurfette: my friend has t25 she says it's all cardio there's no weight training exercises. She did p90 and tapout pre-preg though.

@loveisstrange: word, this is my new favorite thing to do. Especially if you have something like chromecast or apple tv so you can play them right on your tv.

@loveisstrange: @IRunForFun: Yup! I have a lot of fitness stuff saved on YT. Fitness Blender is awesome!

@loveisstrange: Have you done any of the Dance Fitness by Jessica videos? My neighbor comes over and we do them. I am crying laughing by the end because I am so uncoordinated, but since you love pole classes you might like them too!

i don't know if it's a favorite but p90x and jillian's dvds are my staples.

i like insanity - all the month one dvd's are 40 minutes long, and the first 10 minutes is to get your heartrate up, the next 10 minutes is stretching, and the last 20 minutes is the high intensity workout. month two dvd's are similar but they lengthen the workouts to about an hour long.
i can barely make it through the 40 min ones so i've never even attempted month two, but i love how they break out the minutes - makes it feel so doable, but you still get a crazy intense workout at the end! and all you need is your own body - no extra equipment necessary!
i tried T-25 and didn't like it. it's a condensed version of insanity so no breaks, no stretches, but i also found some of the workouts boring, especially after trying insanity.
i would search craigslist first for some of these dvd's - that's how i scored my insanity, p90x, and t-25 dvd's - they were all brand new and unopened, legit versions too! maybe i just have really good luck with craigslist in my area, but worth a shot.

@grizz: I haven't heard of them. Lol. My friend used to own some aerobic striptease by Carmen Electra videos back in the day. They were hilarious

@loveisstrange: They're fun! And my thighs are shaking by the end of a few of them.

@Shutterbug: & @loveisstrange: yes! I use our Wii to watch them on our tv.

@mrs. bird: Oh, good idea to use my wii. I saw an infomercial for the zumba DVD, but it's around $100. Not sure I want to spend that much to find out that I don't stick with it. Getting something for the wii could be something I could get.

@Mrs. High Heels: Thanks for that review! I've started and stopped Insanity 2x now and really liked it but (insert stupid excuse here). I was thinking of trying T25 just b/c it's shorter but it sounds like I just need to get back on the Insanity horse.

@lawbee11: I love my Y membership but that's exactly it. When I used to be a SAHM, or even between semesters since I'm PT - I have that extra time for all that and truly enjoy the workout classes. But if I want to work out 3+ times a week - it has to be at home.
@IRunForFun: I think you had recommended them before! I tried their yoga and core and really liked them. Only problem is then I have to watch them on my 13" computer screen instead of my TV. So that's why I'm leaning towards DVDs.
@mrs. bird: I've tried using my wii to watch fitness blender or YT on my TV but the resolution is SO BAD!
@Mrs. High Heels: my sister does insanity and loves it. She was so ripped before she had kids! I think she's starting it up again, after having two kids.

@MUI831: Can't even count how many times i've tried and retried, and given up on insanity! But when I finally decided to stick with it, it got easier each time and I could feel myself getting better and stronger. Sometimes I'd give up with 15 min left, uh yea, that means I only did 5 min worth of the "high intensity" portion haha, but I'd just give myself a new goal the next day to push myself a little more, work a little harder.. Just take it one day at a time!

@Mrs. Pen: Thanks for creating this thread. I have a gym membership but haven't had time to go to the gym. I like Zumba but when I took the classes, it was too fast for me. I was thinking of getting the Zumba DVD, but I just ordered the Zumba Wii game.

@Mrs. Pen: That's the reason I decided to give it another go too... after having two kids, it was so hard to make it to the gym. I didn't even want to waste 10 min driving to the gym and then 10 min back (that's 20 min right there!!). I wanted to be as efficient with my time as possible.. so home workouts were the way to go! I like how insanity combines cardio and weight bearing exercise (using your own body weight). But honestly, any workout you choose to do is better than nothing. I think 30ds is good to start with, but if you want to increase the intensity then I recommend Insanity.

@bluestriped bee: I have the zumba wii game! It's kinda fun.
@Mrs. High Heels: yeah I honestly don't think I'm up to the level of insanity. Even Jillian kills me! Maybe I will try it. I actually had a friend offer to lend me the DVDs for awhile to see if I like it.
