Do you have a home security system?
If so:
which company
what kind of system?
do you have a condo/apartment/house/townhome,etc?
Was it a one time installation fee with monthly payments? Care sharing how much?
If not, why not?
We hope to get a system installed at the new house. Not immediately but hopefully sometime before this winter.

We have ADT for our house. Installation was free and we pay a nominal monthly fee.

I got an ADT sign and stickers for the windows off eBay for $25! Hopefully it will be enough to make someone think twice without paying $45 a month.

Nope. Our community has practically zero crime. I feel really safe here and I don't think it would be worth the investment.

Nope. We have a dog that will bark if someone comes to the door, and we have guns in our room. We don't really live in a place that gets a lot of break-ins though. I don't think there has ever even been a break-in in our neighborhood.

We live in a house and have ADT. We pay a monthly fee, but it's worth it, especially since I'm home alone some nights.

For those of you with a system do you just have sensors at doors or at windows as well?
We have a 65 lb pit bull mutt of pure muscle...she looks and barks quite scary. But she isn't at all! hahaha She'll bark and bark then lick you to death.

We have home security monitored by a Guardian Alarms (thinking about switching to a lower cost and local provider). We bought an older home, and it already came equipped with the alarm so we just pay the monthly monitoring fee.

@regberadaisy: we currently have them on the doors only, but once we have LO, we'll install window units as well.

@regberadaisy: No it doesn't change the monthly monitoring fee. We just have to buy the additional sensors to be installed.
If you want to go a cheaper route, you can buy scensors at hardware stores like Home Depot, Lowe's, even maybe Wal-Mart that make a sound when the door or window is open, but it isn't monitored by an alarm company.
