My parents have a landline, but we don't!
I asked DH how our kids are going to talk to their friends when we don't have a landline and they don't have cell phones..
His response:
Uh. They'll Skype or video chat.

We don't. I think I want one in the future though, for when my LO is older like you said.

We don't have one. I don't think I've had one since I lived with my parents. We may or may not get one when LO is older.
My niece is 11 and has a cell phone, and she prefers to Skype with her friends (on her iPad...thanks Disneyland Daddy....)

Well we have one but don't have a phone plugged into it. We tried to cancel and Comcast took $25 per month off our bill for us to keep it! We weren't going to argue with that.

With Time Warner Cable, it was actually a little cheaper for us to get a landline with cable and Internet. Otherwise we pay a little more without it! So yes, we have a landline!

No landline. But I always worry about not having a corded phone plugged into a jack in case of a black out.

We don't have one and we have wondered the same thing about when we have kids but with where we live I will probably get my kids cell phones at a relatively young age because it would be well within the realm of normal for them to walk to school, sports practices, the park etc. from around the age of 10 and I would rather be able to stay in touch with them.

Ours was part of our cable package. Love it!

Yup...didn't have one for years but it was cheap to bundle with our Internet when we got our house

Nope. I did for a while, but no one would call it! They all called my cell even if I was home, so I gave up & got rid of it.

Yes we have one and always will, even if it never gets used. I keep a non-cordless phone available to plug in, just in case the power goes out and we need to either contact or be contacted. Relying solely on the cellular network (especially in a disaster like 9/11) isn't something I will consider.

Yep, but only because it was part of package deal with our internet and it's hooked up to our security system. I use it on my work from home days, but most other days - we just use our cell phones.

We have one but it's not connected. We needed the plug for something else and I never got around to re-installing the phone.

Yup for home security monitoring and fax line. Yes, we still use the good ole fax machine occasionally.

Nope, but when we move out to the middle of no where we will have to hvae one for sure. There is very spotty cell reception in the area we plan on movin too!

Yes, it was part of our bundle, it took us about a year to actually buy a phone though, and even now we keep the ringer off. Although it is good to have for emergencies.
We are constantly get calls for a random woman who didn't pay her bills, pretty annoying.

@jessiejo17: A landline is still probably a good idea, but have you considered a mircro cell? We bought one because we had bad service @ our house & now we always have full service.
We don't have a landline
