Our mailman told us 2 weeks ago that there might be people looking through our mailboxes. I'm wondering if I should ask my landlord if he can put in a locking mailbox. Or see if he'll split it with us.

Nope – the only time I have ever had a locking mailbox was when I lived in an apartment with a community mail room.

We do now in a planned community where all the mailboxes are together. I hate it!

We do not have one, but I am considering installing a camera outside. It's becoming more common for people to steal packages.

That really stinks, I hate that people would do that. We have a mail slot which is kind of awesome. Packages we track with the UPS app so we can grab them quickly.

We only did in townhouses that had the communal boxes with locks.
Now our mailbox doesn't even stay latched half the time. But I'm not worried about my neighborhood.
The bigger worry is that we don't ever use our front door so if we don't pay attention to when things are shipping, we can easily leave them out for extended periods.

Yes, because everyone's together. Each section has a group of mailboxes with locks. Our mailman mixes it up most days.

Yes we have a communal mailbox unit with our neighbors. I really like that it is locked!
