The other thread got me curious, do you have a middle name? I sort of assumed most people did but noticed a few on that thread do not, so now I'm curious to see just how many don't!

Sort of?
My mother gave me a family surname as a middle name. I've been asked my whole adult life if it's my maiden name.

I was given a middle name at birth, and when I married I kept my maiden name as a second middle name.

My parents didn't give me a middle name. It isn't really done in their home country, but they did figure it out for my two brothers, who were born after I was. Intersestingly, my father has a middle name, I am not sure if that was intentional or a mistake...long story.

I do and I have always disliked it. It is only used on official documents.

Yes two - a regular middle name and then my mother's maiden name. I dropped my mother's maiden name when I got married and put my maiden name as my second middle

I wasn't born with one... When I became a citizen here I made my Chinese name my middle name but I never use it.

It used to be Caitlin, but when I got married I dropped it and made my maiden name my new middle name.

I do but my husband does not. It's not as common in his parents native country. Plus he was a triplet and they said coming up with 3 first names was challenging enough.

I have a middle name. I learned not everyone has one in 1st grade when my teacher, Ms. Savadra, said she didn't have one.

Yes.
Funny note, my middle name, DH's, both of our moms, his aunt and sister all have rhyming middle names (one syllable, end in the -ay sound), so we've kept the tradition up w/ LO1, and will do so w/ LO2 as well.

Nope.
My family struggled so hard with my name.
I was nameless for a week after birth. They got to the end of the alphabet and my aunt just picked one that sounded nice and everyone else like, "Ya okay",
...
They had a boy's name picked out. xD
Could you tell what sex they wanted? Hahaha.

Yes, it blew my mind when I reached Junior high and discovered for the first time there were people who didn't.

My mom's maiden name, I hated it growing up, I just wanted a normal middle name like everyone else. I love it now as an adult, I kept it too when I added on my husband's last name.
@MaisyMay: That is seriously cute!
