What's your routine for vacuuming, dusting, laundry, dishes and other household chores? How do you split it up?

I try to pick one room a day. I usually start with the worst room to get it over with.
ETA: I guess with laundry and vacuuming it all kind of gets done every other day.

I struggle with this. I try to do something small each day so I don't feel like I spend my entire weekend cleaning. Like on Fridays I will wipe down the bathroom sinks, empty trash and clean the mirrors. Haven't gotten to the poin of a good, full, schedule yet though.

I have a daily chores/cleaning list that we keep posted on the inside door of one of our kitchen cabinets. For the most part, we share tasks pretty evenly from that list (whatever one person doesn't get to, the other is good about doing). My husband has been doing the lion share lately though, since I am suuuuuper pregnant (bless his heart). I expect to do most if not all when I am home on leave.

@preggomeggo82: Your house is much cleaner than my house..... lol
We really don't have a system. We keep things pretty picked up generally so that isn't really an issue, and my husband does dishes/wipes down kitchen every night after we're done with dinner (I cook). I keep on top of laundry as needed, but often we'll wait until we have 2-3 baskets of clean clothes then fold them all together on the weekend. Otherwise we just clean whenever it looks like it needs it.

@bluestriped bee: @Mae: I can't claim we're always 100% about it, but it really helps know what we need to do, especially when things get busy. Hoping it will transition well with having a newborn at home. I spend about 30 min a day doing stuff, so it's pretty managable on a daily basis.

@preggomeggo82: that is such an awesome schedule. I wish we could stick to something like this!
We tend to just spot clean during the week, and tackle all the major stuff on weekends between the two of us.

We have a loose schedule, there are certain days of the week I do things, like cleaning out the fridge in advance of garbage day, attending to the laundry, etc.
This year we have to do a huge garage clean out once it warms up.

@PermaStudent: See, I HATE cleaning on the weekends (or at least feeling like I am spending all day doing it) so I prefer to break it up. It's helped my naturally-messy self stay on top of things, because otherwise I could ignore dirt for weeks on end!

@preggomeggo82: I hate it too!! It's really a terrible system. I'm going to print out your list, I hope that's OK!

@PermaStudent: Of course! If it helps a pig pen like myself, it can help anyone!!!

I don't have a routine. I just do it as needed. There are things my DH usually does, like clean the litter box.

I used to have a daily schedule but that's gone out of the window since having LO - I just do what I have time to do now!
In the main, the key for me is to pick up as I go along. If I use something, I put it away. If I see something DH has left out, I put it straight away. If I'm going upstairs, I look for anything that needs to be taken up. As soon as anyone has finished eating/drinking, the crockery goes straight into the dishwasher.
I hoover downstairs (floors and sofa) every day after LO has had her breakfast (while she's still in her high chair) and straighten the sofa cushions. It takes less than 5 minutes and makes such a difference.
I do a load of laundry most evenings (I bring it down after I've put LO to bed). It goes from the washing machine to the tumble dryer straight away and then the following evening I take it out and put it away while DH is bathing LO.
I also straighten upstairs (and sometimes hoover up there) and change LOs bedlinen/wipe down the nursery surfaces each evening while DH is bathing LO.
We have a rule - whoever is last out of bed makes it straight away. It's usually me!!
I keep a loo brush and a packet of wipes in the bathroom for touch ups and then clean the bathroom properly at the weekend (maybe every other weekend!!)
Saturday is meal planning and shopping day. I purge and clean the fridge before restocking it.
Sunday is my proper cleaning day - dusting, cleaning behind sofas, hoovering the stairs, changing the bed linen (every other week or so). I do skip it sometimes but it's ok because the laundry is done, the rooms are pretty clean anyway, it can handle it!!
I NEVER clean the cars!! Oops. And bathing the dogs has taken a backseat recently!! They smell!!!

@preggomeggo82: That's an incredible schedule!! It even covers yard duties!!! You're my hero!!! I notice you eve have sorting the mail out in there - I just shove the mail in a cupboard. As long as it looks clean and tidy I don't care (this really annoys DH!!!!)

We don't have kids so it's just the two of us (and our dogs) and I do pretty much all of the household chores. My husband deals with the garbage, deals with anything outside, does his own laundry, and does a lot of the cooking but I do everything else. It's just easier this way, I don't mind doing it and this way I don't have to nag!
I clean the entire house top to bottom twice a week while my husband is at work and do my laundry, sheets, and towels once a week. I tidy up and clean the kitchen usually once a day, or as needed.

Here's what we do:
Tuesday-Thursday: load of laundry each day. Kitchen gets cleaned every night after dinner, & I usually vacuum again on Wednesday.
Saturday Morning: pick chores (I write them on paper and DH & I each pick 3 so it's fair)
-Master - pick up bedroom/clean bath
- Guest - pick up bedroom/clean bath
- Dust/Vacuum - all rooms
- Floors - sweep/scrub/mop
- Laundry (finish it/put it away/wash sheets/towels)
- Kitchen - sink, fridge, counters, microwave
DH always picks up basement and I also pick up LO's room.

We clean once a week and I do the bathroom/kitchen and DH does the vacuuming and dusting.
DH is a neat freak so he's usually the one keeping us neat during the week. I find that taking teh time to neaten before leaving for work in the morning really helps because it's a lot less overwhelming when you come home to a neat house.

I wish I had a routine. Instead, I just try to get at least one thing done a day, and then Fridays/Saturdays when DH is home I can get a bunch more done. Laundry happens on the weekends, or the occasional weeknight if I can remember.

If I know my Sat is free, I do it all on Sat. But if I know we have weddings, or OOT trips, then I do a little bit every week night.
Mon - Kitchen
Tues - Master bath
Wed - 2nd bath, dust bedroom & living room
Thurs - Vacuum/mop
