I forgot what brand I tried but it didn't really do anything for me.

Tom's of Maine deodorant works for me! I've been using it for 12 years!

Ha ha, that's so funny. I opened this thread to say that Tom's does not do a thing for me.
I make mine, using baking soda, cornstarch, shea butter, cocoa butter, and some essential oils. Works better than anything else I've used.

I liked using Toms when I had a rash and was told not to use anything for a week (we all know THAT wasn't going to happen!)

I am intrigued about making your own, please share!
I've tried a few of the natural ones, nothing ever seems to work, and I don't consider myself to be a heavy sweater.

I agree. I use Tom's the lemongrass scent as deo but it def doesn't keep you dry.

I've tried several over the years and none seem to work well or only work for a short period if time. I'd love to hearth recipes @chopsuey119: and @shellio: have to offer.

Tom's of Maine or the crystal--but only if I shower in the morning and use it when I'm still all wet.
I NEVER buy antiperspirant. It's never good for you, and never truly organic.

@looch: I still *sweat* with all of them, but I don't *smell.*
It's good enough for me.

OOps! The one that works for me is NOT Tom's, it's DeoDry from the Body Shop. And I love it.

Sorry! I haven't logged on for a while. This is the recipe I was using, while I was pregnant it did make me start breaking out in a rash in one armpit. (After already using it for months - bizarre.) I was super bummed because it worked extremely well, and have been using Tom's ever since because I had some around. I just started using a new concoction, coconut oil, baking soda, and cornstarch. I figured if I simplified maybe I would eliminate the rash-causing ingredient, but the jury is still out.

@shellio: thanks! i tend to get rashes as well so i have to be wary of things. i don't normally need to use anything, though, which is good. i had a few days there where i was sweating like crazy....it must have been crazy hormones because it went away!

@Andrea: Wow, so lucky that you don't have to wear anything! I loved my homemade deodarant and was so upset when I got the rash from it. If the coconut oil version doesn't work, I'll probably try the original again without any essential oils and see if that works.
