Does it get dirty? We're in the market for a headboard but I worry that with everyday sweat over the years it will get gross and dirty.

We don't, but I'm totally in love w them! We have a wood/leather one and I can't wait to replace, but this is a good point about wear over the years!

Yep! Only had it for a year but it looks just as good!

We do. I wouldn't worry about sweaty kind of dirt, we don't actually lean against it too often (we sit mostly against pillows). It does get kind of dusty but nothing a vacuum or lint brush can't take care of. We love ours!

I made sure not to get one b/c DH told me his parents have one that developed worn areas over the years! So ours is wood and I always keep pillows covering the wood since the decorative part is higher up.

We have a fabric upholstered headboard & bed. We barely touch it (we sleep w/ 2 pillows each). The side of the bed gets dusty w/ hair so I just vacuum it. Our bed is beige too!

We've had one for about 4 years and it still looks like new - and it's a very light tan/off white. We don't really touch it all that much, since we sleep on pillows and if we were sitting in bed we'd have a pillow propped against it - so it's held up beautifully. As pp have mentioned, it does get dusty/collects hair but just vacuuming it is all it takes to clean it up.

I've had mine for over a year and no issues yet. It gets a little dusty at the top but that's easy to wipe off. Mine is a velvet like material, and it's beige.
I've seen a few in dark colors that are beautiful (dark grey or navy) that could be an option if you're worried about it.

No, we have a wood one. My sister just bought a new upholstered headboard and it looks great. I didn't think about it getting dirty after a while.

Yes - we have this one in white velvet: http://www.amazon.com/Skyline-Furniture-Velvet-Wingback-Headboard/dp/B005M7BQ90
We've had it for three years now, and it actually does get a little dingy - we have a handheld steamer we use on it every couple of weeks and it looks brand-new afterward.

We do - ours is a tan linen. We've had it two years. I vacuum it occasionally, and it's held up great. No worn spots at all.

We have a linen one, we don't have any problems with it, just vacuum when you see dust.
