Yes, central air and heat. Last winter we also installed a built in humidifier system so we don't have to deal cleaning and filling up humidifiers anymore. I am happiest about that!

Heat only, with window units in the bedroom and office. We are hoping to add whole house in several years.

Yup, central heat/ac. I don't like window ac units, seems depressing to have one stuck in your window blocking your view. At my first apt we had one & it used to get nasty! Granted I was living with smokers at the time, but the filter would be black & gross & I would gross myself out thinking about breathing air from it

@skibobrown: My aunts from Cali came to visit me the week prior to my wedding and they kept turning off my A/C because they claimed it was too cold. To the hubby and I, it was flipping hot! The temperature read 80 every day when I got home from work.

We have central air/heat in Portland where we currently live. But we're back in ny currently an only have window units. Can't believe how humid it is here already.

Nope! We have forced hot water so it would be costly to install central. It's only really warm fro 3 months outa the year so we get by with window units.

Nope, we don't have central air. We don't have AC either. We do have heat in our apt. We are usually fine with just fans. Although, if there is an heat wave, we have to suffer through it. Luckily, it doesn't happen that often for us.

We have central heat and no a/c. In the area where we live it rarely gets over 90 degree, so it isn't such a big deal. We own a wall/window unit that we used in our apartment, but it is just sitting in te garage used for the past two years that we've been in this house. We do have a whole house fan in the hallway, which is a great way to bring in cooler air from outside during the summer evenings with the windows open.

We have central heat (and backup monitor heater upstairs) but no central air. I don't really like air conditioned air, and we really only would have use for it a couple weeks at most during the year. We have 2 mobile AC units which are more than enough to cool the main floor of the house if it gets miserable. I doubt we'll ever get central AC as we plan to build and the cost would be an additional $11k-14k for the house. I can't justify spending that kind of money on something we would barely use!!

Nope, we have a wall unit. A lot of apartments do here, or at least a lot of the ones we looked at. We'd prefer to have it though, so we'll see what we can find when we move out of this place!

Neither; however, we are fortunate enough to live in an ideal climate so neither is really necessary. Brisbane's avg winter high is around 72 F (22 C) with lows around 50 F (10 C) and summer ranges from mid-80s F (30 C) to low 70s F (20s C) with very low humidity.

We do have a portable oil heater, similar to a radiator, that we use on the odd occasion when the temp drops into the single digits Celsius overnight, but fortunately, that's not too often!
