Do you have Hunter boots? Worth the price?

I do. They are cute and very durable but most of the cost is for the label.

I have a tall and short pair. I've owned several cheaper pairs and so far prefer the hunters for their durability and style. Plus I can walk in them for long periods of time without hurting my feet.

Yes, they were a birthday gift. I do agree some of the price is the label but they are amazing. They're much cheaper on 6pm.com!

Yes, I have the short ones and like them a lot. I got 20% off through a friend's discount - I wouldn't pay full price for them.
I was actually leaning towards Tretorns or Aigles but they didn't have any in my size.

Yes. I like them and they're classic. The actual boot part hasn't leaked, and I've had them for 5 years. That said, the buckle (more specifically, the rubber where the strap attaches to the boot) on mine broke within the first two months I owned them. For the price, that's unimpressive.

@Freckles: I have tretorns and they are fine- no leaking or cracking- but definitely not something I would want to walk around in all day. Better than target but not as comfortable as I had hoped.
@BananaPancakes: I'm so intrigued- being able to walk a long way in rain boots would be pretty awesome. Mine are durable but not that comfortable.

My first pair of hunters is ten years old and still going strong. They last forever.

@Foodnerd81: they really are comfortable. With fleece welly socks, I wore them daily all winter in Chicago. But with the buckle flapping at the side...

@Foodnerd81: that's true! I have the old ones but for the price I paid ($30) I thought they were good. I was looking at the tretorn Kelly's that got good reviews! I definitely like my Hunters though- I can walk in them for a while.

Yes. 3 pairs. Not really necessary for SoCal, but so fun when we get to wear them! I've had them for years, used for travel, and they still look great. That being said, I've had Tretorns before that cracked and leaked water. Had them on a trip to Seattle and promptly chucked them since they were useless. And not nearly as warm and comfy as Hunters.

I have a pair of tall Hunters and I hate them. The "tread" on the bottom looks impressive but is pretty useless -- I didn't realize how bad until I slipped on some black ice and fractured my arm. It really only grips on grass/mud and dry pavement, I find the boots are too slippery to wear even on wet pavement, which defeats the whole purpose of rain boots. And my calves aren't huge, but I still can't tuck any pants other than skinny jeans inside. You'd need reeeealy skinny calves to be able to do that. I was excited when I got my Hunters but I totally regret it and definitely wouldn't get another pair.

I have a short pair and I'm pretty meh about them. They keep my feet dry but I don't love them.

I find them really stiff and uncomfortable to wear for long periods of walking ( I walk a lot, over 5 miles/day)

@BandDmommy: I do and I stupidly didn't think about calf size. All normal boots fit me but these are really narrow. I can wear them with tights but not with leggings

I just bought a pair of my friends yesterday. Her calves didn't fit well in them so they had only been worn a couple times. She sold them to me for $40!
I wore them for the day and they're pretty comfy and cute. I wouldn't pay full price for them though - they aren't $140 comfy.

I do have them and I don't think they're worth the price. I found my target rain boots to be more comfortable And just as effective....although not as durable

@PurplePeony: yes! I've totally slipped on wet pavement, specifically cross walks in them!

I'm ambivalent about mine. They are great at keeping you from getting wet but I find them to be pretty clunky, for lack of a better word. Maybe it's because I have smallish calves? They get uncomfortable if I wear them for too long. I sort of wish I had some LL Bean duck boots since they are lower profile.

I have the short ones because there is no way my calves ( which fit perfectly fine in other tall boots ) would fit in the tall ones. Also a word of warning - I have high arches and getting them on and off is horrible. That being said I love the boots when they are on and have had no leaking or cracking

Yes definitely! In the winter (I live in Chicago) I wear them as snow boots with thick boot socks. Way better than any other rubber boots I've ever had. I have thick calves so I bought the "Huntress" version.

@rattles: I had the same issue with the buckle breaking after 3 weeks of use. Annoying!
I like them and they do the trick, but a nice pair of duck boots is a good alternative.

Yes, I'm in WA state so they are a wardrobe staple from October - may

I have some of the tall ones. They sit in my closet and I never wear them. I do find them to be heavy and clunky...my mom has a pair of tall rainboots that she got at a farm and tractor supply store and they are SOO much lighter and more flexible and more comfortable. And they are plain tall, black boots.
I think people mainly get Hunters for the cache of the name I guess.

@rattles: Yes! My buckle broke too. I've also literally worn out the sole too.

Yes, although I am very short with not so skinny calves, so I got the kids tall version (which is wider and shorter than the adult tall, but taller than the adult short). I like them alot and bonus was that they were cheaper than the adult version.

In case anyone is looking, Costco has them online. You have to be a member to order. I am returning the ones I ordered and ordered these for $83 with tax!
