I find Hunter boots too big in the ankles for me. I love my Bogs for both rain and snow.

i asked a store salesperson and she said the difference is just the name. She said that Hunter boots used to better quality, but have since become the same as all the other brands and people pay just for the name. I took her word, and bought kamik, and have no complaints.

I bought Hunters once but they fit weird and returned. Would like to get some rain boots one day but likely won't use them often.

@dookie32: same. My 15 year old pair of Hunters is amazing. My two year old pair aren't. The quality is basic now. I only bought the second pair because I wanted another color. They squeak. My first pair are still watertight and super comfy.

Sooo I have 4 pairs. A lace up shorter navy blue, the short reds, the short blacks with a buckle I got at the anniversary sale years ago and and a short pair of medium blue packables. I got most of them on sale or reduced. I'm 5'4" and have a really long torso and short legs so the talls hit my kneecap. I live in a climate where it rains 8 months of the year and rarely snows so they are a must for me. I also have Sorel shorts that I wear more than all my Hunters combined.

Thus the name youboots it's my DHs nickname for me

I had a pair for 4 years and they were great (bought them in 2009?). But I bought them half a size too big thinking I would wear thick socks with them, but I always found them too big (so my fault, not the boots). I ended up buying a pair of Aigle rain boots in my size and they are fine. The sole isn't as cushy as the Hunters, but I like that they are mid calf instead of knee high. .

I've only had hunters so I can't compare, but the pair I did have lasted 10+ years before I moved to the Philippines and they were still in great condition. Super heavy though so next time I wouldn't get the ones that go up all the way to my knee.

I have a pair of the huntress boots - the ones made for wide calfs. I like but don't love them. I got them for a really good price at Nordstrom Rack a few years ago. Definitely wouldn't pay full price for them though.

I had kamik 9 years ago when I first moved to NYC. They lasted my exactly one winter season. Got a hole. I got my hunters the next year. I like them but it's not swoon love. They are the best at NYC curbs when there is literally a 12 inch deep slush puddle and you can't walk around. But they aren't the most comfortable for trekking a long way, which I do often so I find they get relegated to the back of my closet unless it is a super downpour day or deep slush everywhere. I did put a pair of orthotics in them. I tend to wear my sperry duck boots on the mildly gross days (which there are a lot more of). .

@delight: @mediagirl: I love my Bogs. I've had mine for 6ish years and wear them all winter, plus in spring rains. They're fading a little bit but otherwise have held up great!

I've never tried Hunter boots so really can't speak to them but as I said above, Bogs are awesome!

I love my hunter boots but I'm really short and should have bought the shorter ones. But they are fixing to last forever!

I've never bothered to look at Hunters, because I have wide calves and I knew they'd never fit.

It doesn't rain much where I live, but I did need something for the sloppy winter days where full snow boots would be overkill. So far they've worked great, and it helps that they were relatively inexpensive!
