What are your rules regarding screen time? Is your LO only allowed X amount per day? Can they only have screen time if they earn it? Or is screen time used as a distraction only during appointments/times you need 5 minutes to make a phone call etc?
We pretty much let LO watch TV when we aren't doing much, however, it's on in the background more than she actually watches it. I would say total throughout the day she actually sits and watches something for an hour or so. I have been making a point to turn the TV to the music station instead since I have to have background noise of some sort.
As far as the phone goes, I will let her use it if I really have to concentrate on something for a few minutes and I need her to not be picking on her sister or asking a million questions. I'll also let her play here and there if she asks or to settle down for a bit.
I think I want to start using screen time a little bit more for rewards. She can do (or not do) certain things to earn her time. I know there's still going to be times where I need her to just chill out and watch a show but I think letting it be more of a privilege could help.
This is for my 3 year old my 1 year old doesn't watch TV or play on the phone yet.
We don't do any TV in the mornings on weekdays, but when we get home LO probably watches an hour or so if she didn't nap and just wants to relax before bed.
