Yep, my last name was too long before, now it's just 3 letters and I love it.

Yup. My initials didn't change when we got married, which was cool.

Yeah, I love my married name and never too much connection to my maiden name, so I was excited to change my name.

Nope. I kept my name and we gave my son my husband's name (after much discussion). Sometimes I wish we shared a last name, but it doesn't really matter that much. I wouldn't have said I was very attached to my maiden name, but it felt like me. I like it more now, thinking about losing it.

I changed my name when DD1 was six months old. We gave her DH's name and I realized it was important to me that we have the same name.
My maiden name is hard to pronounce and DH's is common enough that everyone can say it.

Ah I think it is very weird anyway and I think our parents will disown us lol.

No I didn't take husband's last name because my name is my name and it is a part of me. Or at least that's what I feel strongly about and it has never even come across me that I should change my name. However now I regret not changing it because I have a different last name than my son. It becomes weird especially after we started school.

Yes. I always hated my maiden name and was glad to give it up It's only been a professional problem once (someone contacted my using my old e-mail address 5 years later...) but I pretty much left the field when we got married anyway. It was also really important to my husband and since I was on board, it worked out well!

Changed it. It was nonnegotiable for my hubby. I don't mind my last name except it's soooo common. And my name is common amongst Asians, so my full name is very very common. Ug.

Yes, I changed my name when we got married 9 years ago and we all have the same last name. My maiden name is now my middle name and I had been hoping to give LO2 that name as his middle name, but my husband was not on board with that.

No, I kept my name. I was really happy about my decision, but now I'm thinking about adding my husband's name on. Here in Sweden, it's not very traditional when it comes to names. It's as common to have the man change his name to the woman's surname as it is the other way around. But they don't allow made-up names. I think the law regarding name changes is you have to choose a name from your family tree. Nysmith is quite clever! It means "new" smith

I kept my name and our dd e has a hyphenated last name with my name first. I really wanted her to just have my last name but this was the compromise. I know it'll be hard for her butyou last name is easily identifiable by my family's ethnicity which is a huge part of my life. Also we're way closer to my family than dh's so I'm happy she'll identify with my family more.

Nope, I kept mine. We talked about whose name to give our kids and decided on my husband's. We plan for all our kids to have a middle name starting with C as a nod to my last name. It's fun seeing a lot of others who didn't change their names! I only know one person IRL who didn't. And also my mom, so I guess that's two

My children will have my married name (I took DH's name). My stepdaughter who lives with us full time has her mom's last name though, which does get weird in school since her name doesn't match ours. People expect her parents to have her last name and neither of us do, or they think that she is my daughter from a previous relationship vs. his.

I took my maiden name as my middle name (never had one growing up), so everyone has the same last name.
