Growing up, access to the pools in our town were an extra fee for the summer. It wasn't too expensive though... I think it was somewhere in the $20-40 range for the entire summer.
The public pool we go to now though is totally free, and I love that about it. It's a lot more crowded than the pools I experienced growing up though, which makes sense too.

Yep, there is a per-use fee. I think you can buy a pack of 10 tickets for a reduced rate or something like that, but I've never been so I'm not sure about the specifics.

Ours is a community pool that anyone in our neighborhood can use, but it's maintained by our HOA fees, so it's not really free.

We have to pay. I think it's like $3 per day, but I'm not positive. We haven't been in years.

Ours is part of our taxes so while we pay a ton it is "free" for all residents.

You can buy a season pass or pay as you go in. It's free to use the "kiddie" pools.

Our community center pool is $5 per use if you live in the city. Or you can buy an annual membership for $120 and you get unlimited uses throughout the year. The per use or annual membership includes utilizing the gym equipment, the track, and any other activities inside the gym (e.g. basketball, ping pong, pool table)

We had a pool at our apt complex, but now that we moved, we have no pool. The ladies at the leasing office told my DH that they miss us and that if there was anything we ever needed to let them know. I was trying to tell the DH to ask them if we could use their pool. DH said he would be too embarrassed to ask. 
There is a public pool but we would have to pay.
I got a suntan tub to put in my back yard that fulfills my need for a pool.

Until you posted this, I didn't even know there were public pools in my town! But they are free apparently!

We just pay $10 for our access key to our management company for our condo's pool. There are public pools in town that we have access to as well but it's covered by the HOA (that we don't pay because we're renting). It's a win-win for us to have so many options.

nope not free, there actually pretty expensive around here imo. around 6-10 dolllars a person!
