My 9.5mo old is currently sleeping in my arms. I really think I could hold him all day.

Not anymore. For the first 5.5 months he would only ever fall asleep for naps in my arms. We sleep-trained him to fall asleep in the crib at 5.5-6 months and now he won't really fall asleep anywhere else but there (or the car). I'm glad I can have some time to myself when he naps now, but sometimes I really miss holding him when he sleeps!

I hold her for about an hour so I know she's getting a somewhat decent length nap. She's getting better at not waking up when I put her in the bed so now I hold her for about 20-30 minutes.

At least one nap a day I hold him. It's just easier. Except when I have to pee. Like now. Eff.

Typically I do my best not to but that's because I usually don't have the luxury. One or the other always needs something. Often both!

Yes, but at 11 months, I am trying to break the habit. I need that time back!!

I used to all the time but now I'm trying to get her in her crib (after nursing her down) for each nap. I miss our snuggles so much but putting her down is the only way I'll get anything done. Love sleepy babies though, they're the best : )

Occasionally. Lately she's been terrible about sleeping in her crib for naps. Yesterday I held her for a 2.5 hour nap! I'm trying to remind myself that she won't be a baby for long and to enjoy it, but I can get a lot of stuff done in 2.5 hours!

I try not too but at least once a day I have too cause then she will nap for a couple hours. If I put her down more like 30 mins.

We're doing a skin to skin nap right now. It's very calming for both of us!

Yup I do... Lo is 7 months. Gonna try this week to get her back in her crib since she's not sleeping in there at night either for some weird reason. I enjoy the cuddles though and I know it's not going to last forever.

Yes! Like others - if I put him down he just won't sleep as long but if I hold him he will sleep for 1-2 hrs!

Yep! When I put her down, she only sleeps for 15-30 minutes, but if I hold her, I get 45min - 2hours. I really wanted to get her napping in her crib before day care and she does kind of. She starts day care on Monday, so I hope it goes OK.

i don't--i'm reading these responses and thinking that i would get nice long naps, certainly longer than the 45-minute naps that LO takes, but honestly i don't have the patience for it. plus my maternity leave is ending so i didn't want him to get used to sleeping on me. not that it has done me much good--he still fights every nap and wakes up after the 45-minute sleep cycle. boo on me.

I hold him and nap with him in our bed for one nap a day. He sleeps longer, gets a good nap and I get snuggles plus the extra rest
