I bought some truck thing for my friend's son. I accidentally threw out the receipt last night and our garbage pick up was this morning...whoops! I guess he can deal with it if he doesn't like it!

Always. Plenty of places don't take returns without a receipt. There's always the possibility that they already have it or get two of it.

Yes - I try to include a gift receipt any time I give a gift. I don't mind if they return my gifts.

Always! They might not want toys when I give them, they might not fit into the clothes (or simply not mom & dad's style), they don't like/already have the books I give, etc.
I actually include gift receipts for all presents. Store credit is more useful than something collecting dust in the corner.

Yep, I try to. I get annoyed with stores that don't offer gift receipts, like H&M. Too bad because they have such cute baby clothes too.

I always try to, though sometimes I forget. I don't mind if a gift gets returned... I would rather that they return the gift than let it sit in a closet unused because they already had it or didn't need it.

sometimes! often I forget to.....and I also like to pre-buy presents for people when I see something good...and then give it to them later....so sometimes the receipt gets misplaced in the delayed gift giving!

I usually do. For my son's 1st birthday, we received 3 of the same gift! So it was nice to be able to return 2 of them for either other toys or items that he might have needed.

Have you guys had any luck making returns or exchanges to Toys r Us without a receipt? I hope they can do something with the gift if it doesn't work out!
