We do right now and it looks so cluttered. Cereal boxes and bags of chips!

We have a stack of mixing bowls and some bananas up there.
wonderful olive / 19353 posts
Yup! It's an additional storage place for us since our kitchen is tiny! There's strainers and some ramen noodle bowls up there along with extra fridge shelves we didn't use.

Yea, we keep chips, and wine! hahahah but our cats figured out how to get up there, and the chips are regularly found on the floor, so yea.....We have pretty much just chip crumbles in our bags...

yuppers! a couple of weeks ago our realtor had someone come look at the house to see what easy things we can do to make the house more appealing for when we want to put it up for sale in a few months, and one of the first things she said was 'nothing on top of the fridge'

Oh and we keep our bottles of alcohol up there too, I think 1 bottle of Jim Beam, Bacardi Limon, and Jamaican Appleton Rum from our honeymoon

Yes, extra soda and water. I hate it looking clutter but we don't have the room anywhere else. We won't be able to in the new house cause the cabinet comes all the way out. Yay, less clutter!

only cat treats because the cat can't get up there (it is tucked into an alcove). He knows how to open cabinets and stuff so it is the only safe place, ha.

I would love for it be clutter free, but we have a wee kitchen. So I'm with other folks and have cereal and chips up on top. I dream of a spacious kitchen with lots of cabinet space....

Yup, we just have too much stuff, some of my holiday tins, banana rack, etc. random crap!
hostess / wonderful persimmon / 25556 posts
Oh yeah. TONS of crap up there. Serving dishes, pitchers and vases.

We have cereal, crackers, extra plastic bags, and a glass bowl full of sharpies and pens. Ours has cabinets above it, but they are recessed and I'm too short to reach them so DH hides my presents in there sometimes.
pineapple / 12526 posts
All of my cake decorating stuff and our take-out menus are up there.
GOLD / wonderful olive / 19030 posts
Yes, we have our waffle iron and a decorative bowl up there.
pomegranate / 3516 posts
Yep, we have cereal and also pushed back are extra paper towels and kleenex. We also have like five pounds of pecans on top of our fridge because DH bought some over the holidays and was planning on baking/cooking with them. The other day I went to get some paper towels and accidentally knocked them off. That was a lot to clean up (we literally have about five pounds of pecans up there, that's not an exaggeration).

We have a ton of cereal boxes. I actually would love to remove all of them since sometimes I wonder what vermin may be lurking up there (at the very minimum some major bunnies!).

There's a cabinet above our fridge that we keep vases in. In the space between the top of the fridge and the cabinet I slide trays and cookie cooling racks.
pomegranate / 3414 posts
Yep - cereal and a container of dog food in the front, serving bowls and batteries in the back
pomelo / 5331 posts
We used to have the slow cooker, a pitcher, and a random bottle of G2 up there (that has been up there forever, and in the 6-pack ring to boot -- it's DH's). But this weekend I deep cleaned the kitchen and found a new home for everything. It's so much less cluttered!

There are two little cupboards up there that hold booze and rarely used kitchen items. Then on top of the actual fridge are cereal boxes and a cake stand. I'd love for it to be more organized since our kitchen is so small!

Funny, it seems cereal is a very common thing to keep on top of the fridge!
We have cereal, chips, crackers... granola, oatmeal... english muffins, bread.... gin.. I think that's it.
honeydew / 7909 posts
We don't have anything on top of our fridge... I would've never even thought of using it as extra storage until reading this post!
GOLD / papaya / 10206 posts
We have empty egg cartons (I HATE that we keep them there) and a decorative 3 tier platter. I need to make a run to the egg farm and bring back the egg cartons/restock on eggs. I also need to find a better place to store our empty egg cartons.
cantaloupe / 6800 posts
We have a gun, a mixed drink recipe book, extra dog food bowls & a bunch of dust.
coconut / 8498 posts
LO's food and sodas. I'm always pulling stuff down when I open the doors.
eggplant / 11716 posts
Nope, nothing on top of the fridge, because we have a tiny cabinet above it. Also, I don't dust up there, and it's always pretty dusty--so I would have to be much cleaner if I were storing food there. We have a tiny kitchen, too!
bananas / 9628 posts
Ours is in the wall with a cabinet over it. I keep vases, cooling racks, party plates, and a toaster oven we don't have counter space for in the cabinet.
blogger / pineapple / 12381 posts
In our old house, but now we have a sub zero, so it's too tall.
GOLD / grapefruit / 4555 posts
We have miscellaneous lunch bags/boxes, antique (empty and clean!) food tins so nothing gets pushed to the back, bread, empty drink pitchers, and my tea kettle. Yes it's cluttered but we don't have much space!
hostess / wonderful apple seed / 16729 posts
We have lunch bags, coolers and some tupperware beverage containers. Yeah, it's cluttered but we have a really small kitchen. So what can I do?
cantaloupe / 6610 posts
No. Stuff out on countertops or similar places, like fridge top, makes me break out in hives!
