We do unless someone is sick. I see it as a sign of affection and will also kiss them on the cheeks, forehead, etc.
But they kiss everyone else on the cheeks only!

Yes! Absolutely. It's my favorite thing when she sticks her face to me and makes a pout to kiss me!

Yes! But I've told her repeatedly and told grandparents we don't kiss on the lips, but they do it anyways. Makes me nuts.

LO is 4mo so if I kissed him on the lips right now, I'm liable to get thrown up on lol. Maybe when he's older

@snowjewelz: yes! My 2 year old makes the perfect pout lips I've ever seen!

When they were much younger I did - now I don't
DD likes to be kissed on each cheek then her forehead and then her chin

@Mamaof2: was this per her request? DD1 is turning 4 and I can't see a day where she will want to stop! But if she does of course we'll oblige.
But I'm guessing there will come a age where it might be inappropriate for DH to be still kissing them on the lips.

@regberadaisy: no it was me - I tell them we kiss on cheeks so we don't spread germs
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
I don't. I think it's weird for adults to kiss children on the lips. But I get that I'm a prude.

Yes, my daughter insist that kisses happen on the lips. I love their kisses and will never turn them away. DH has started saying "i'm a boy so you kiss me on the cheek" our 3 1/2 year old isn't having it and says "you aren't a boy you are my daddy who i give kisses too." so yeah it's working out well for us HA but he thinks she's getting too old for lip kisses.

Yep! And I don't see why my husband should/would stop unless my daughter requests it! It's not a romantic kiss! And my older daughters favorite thing right now is for us to kiss all together so she shoves all of us together (including baby!).

This is not something I grew up doing, so it would feel very strange to me. I associate kisses on the lips as being romantic kisses, but I think this is probably a cultural thing. We stick to kisses on cheeks and heads.

I do as often as they'll let me.
I don't kids my own parents because ew! thats gross!

Yes, but at a certain age it will get awkward. I no longer kiss my parents on the lips.
squash / 13199 posts
we used to but now that she is getting older, {turning 4 this week} we dont anymore
cantaloupe / 6634 posts
I used to when he was really, really little (like a newborn) but don't anymore. I do kiss him on the head, cheeks, toes, hands, etc. I didn't make a point to stop, I just did.

I didn't grow up with this and thought it was weird, until my son began it, so we went with it. They're just closed lip pecks.
pomegranate / 3231 posts
I don't, but sometimes my son initiates it. He does it with his dad too.

@Mrs. Lion: I grew up in a traditional Chinese household, where affection of any kind was pretty nonexistent. I knew my parents loved me, but still yearned for the physical and verbal love, kWIM? Now that I have kids, I show them a ton of physical and verbal affection! I must kiss and hug them dozens upon dozens of times a day. I hope there doesn't come a day when they don't want the physical affection from us!

Yes, but not for too much longer. She's 9mo now. Kissing on the lips with older kids weirds me out. And kissing at all with adults does. I hate when my parents/grandparents kiss me, though I don't say so to spare their feelings.

@regberadaisy: oh gosh me too! We are super affectionate (hugs and kisses all day long!)
@Ms. RV: noooooooooooo!

LO often gives me a kiss on the lips, but sometimes on the cheek. I usually kiss his cheeks. DH only gives him kisses on the cheek. If any other family tried to give him lip kisses I would protest, because GERMS!

yep! kisses all day long and I plan on doing it until I die

Yes! I love giving/receiving kisses on the lips from her. My husband does too. We will stop if she wants us to, but for now, kisses!
pear / 1703 posts
Always! DD is seven and it's not weird for us. I just love showing affection to her - and to DH for that matter!
apricot / 287 posts
I planned on only doing cheek/forehead kisses but once LO started giving us kisses he always went for the lips. So now I try to get his cheeks but he normally turns for a lip kiss - I assume he'll grow out of it by the time he's 3 or 4 anyways, so it's not a big deal to me.
hostess / papaya / 10219 posts
He likes to so I let him unless someone is sick. Which is like all the time since they are in daycare.
blogger / eggplant / 11551 posts
Yes, I love their little kisses! My mom still kisses me on the lips so it's not weird to me.
pear / 1703 posts
@catomd00: from one lip kisser to another I'm curious why you think you probably shouldn't?!
persimmon / 1095 posts
No, I still remember when my father stopped allowing kisses on the lips; I was upset for days. I won't allow that to happen to my son. Therefore, kisses may be elsewhere on the body.
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@regberadaisy: yeah, I feel like esp b/c we never did it as kids (just really minimal physical affection in general), I am soaking it all up now!
