I sat there and thought about this, and I don't. I do know some friends were in the process of adopting but then got pregnant and so delayed the process. I'm not sure if they've decided to proceed.

We have several close friends who have adopted both international and domestically. In my work I have also seen so many families adopt. It's really wonderful.

Now that I think of it, I know a quite a few!
My best friend was adopted from Chile and my assistant at work was adopted too. My aunt and uncle are currently fostering-to-adopt an 8 year old girl. I teach at a private school and many of my students were adopted. Several other teachers here have adopted as well.

Yes. The only person I know who adopted domestically was my grandfather (he adopted my mom). Everyone else I know has adopted internationally. Most from Korea, but there are a couple people I know that adopted from China as well.

I did early intervention speech therapy for a family that adopted 4 babies, all but one internationally. I saw two of their boys. When I went one week to see my little guy, grandma was there because mom and dad got a call about a baby being available. The next week I showed up, they had their precious little baby girl. They were such an amazing family. I cried when the last little guy I saw turned 3 and no longer qualified for EI speech. They ended up with 4 under 4. It was the craziest, but most loving house I have had the pleasure of working in.
Another friend of my husband did a domestic adoption and now have the most adorable little son.
One other couple we know was in the later stages of navigating the adoption process when she found out she was expecting. It was a huge surprise as they'd been told by several REs that it just likely wasn't in the cards for them. I believe they may adopt but I'm not sure.
My husband's cousin adopted a beautiful little girl from Korea. She's stunning.
I never realized how many people we knew that have adopted.

I was really considering it when we were going thru infertility. But with two and one on the way, I don't see it happening, although I would have loved it. Although, I did want four and I'm pretty sure I don't ever want to be pregnant again, so maybe we will adopt a fourth.... I don't know anyone who was adopted....
