DH and I were talking about winning the lottery. I don't know anyone in real life that won.

No - but my mom won 25k at bingo one year, it ALL went to my sister's wedding.

I know someone who won 10k and then 5k on scratch offs! She probably spent more than that on them In her lifetime though...

Kind of! There is a pho restaurant I always go to and the owner won a large sum of money a few years back (a couple of million? A few million?).

3 people actually.
1- an american couple that won power ball (is that what you call it?) they are awesome, live well but are still fairly conservative with their money .. I think around 50ish million after taxes
2- a guy in my highschool. His parents won the princess marg hospital lotto that we have here. They won a giant furnished home (worth about 1.5 million 10 years ago)
3- a friends - girlfriends - dad .. (still with me?) won the lotto - I think around 15 million.
I still never play.

Dh works with someone who won $25,000, I think. The kicker is he is quite wealthy already so it didn't make a big difference to him. Sure would be nice to win! But I rarely play, only on the giant jackpots when the odds are even worse (smart).

A group of city workers in my hometown won a really huge powerball jackpot a while back. Unfortunately it got a little ugly and there was a lawsuit from some of the other people in the office. Anyway, my stepsister ended up getting the old car of one of the daughters of the winners, who was obviously buying a new one

My uncle! He split a million dollars with two other people. He bought the ticket on a whim after not playing for a few years. My aunt got a brand new convertible mustang and a new kitchen

My friend's aunt won the lotto - several million. She comes from a huge family and takes her 5 sisters on vacation every year.
A kid in my class in 6th grade - his parents won the lotto and he never came back to school
