A coworker at my first job was told that baby 3 was a boy (they had two girls) and they went crazy with a hockey themed nursery. Whoops!

Yes, DH's cousin was initially told girl, and then it was actually a boy. They got it straightened out by an ultrasound sometime when she was still pregnant at least, so it wasn't a surprise when the baby was born.

I was initially told girl, but a later US confirmed boy. It was secretly kinda great, like we got to be excited for both!

My ILs are family friends with a couple who were told they were having a girl. The dad was a police sergeant and a very macho, manly man; when told it was a girl, he laughed and said that had it been a boy, it would have been completely obvious, being his son and all (he was kind of joking but not really). Well, they ended up having a boy and many years later, he has yet to live it down!

Two adoptive parents, one told girl (but had no preference and took home a boy). The other really wanted a girl but matched with a boy. Turns out it was a girl and the greatest surprise ever.

My mom's doc thought my sister was a boy based on her heartbeat, but when her ear came out first (she was transverse), he said "Nope! It's a girl!"
