I had a great aunt named Vera. Always thought it was pretty. Since she passed away, I don't know any currently, however.

@mrsjazz: I like it because it has roots in several cultures/languages. I believe it gained popularity after becoming common in England?? Maybe? Our first LO's name has latin/hispanic roots, but is popular among other languages ... I like continuation of that.

I went to school with a Vera but haven't seen her in years. She always asked us to pronounce it "Weera" though even though it had the V because that's how she preferred it!

A girl from my high school named her youngest Vera. We are really only FB friends but since I do actually know her I said yes. I think to a sweet name and I like all the old fashioned names that are "new" again.
