I try not to change my avatar a lot because I don't want to confuse users.
I just changed it though. LOL. It's my first with DS in it!

I know people mostly by their names, although there are some I associate with their avatars. I have a much harder time with someone changing their name and keeping their avatar than vice versa. I change mine every few months.

I know a couple by usernames and a alot more by avatars. I just changed my username but kept the same avatar- it helped cut down on the confustion.

Both. Some names I know, others I have to use pictures.
And FWIW, I still recognized you! I saw you post in another thread and it took me a minute. I knew you had changed your picture but once I placed you, all was good! lol

I try to associate it with both so that way if it does change. I'm highly considering changing my name but am a little worried it will confuse people. I think I will keep my picture for awhile to adjust my new name.

I associate users mostly with their names on here. I don't know many avatars because they tend to change a lot although I do know a few (but really the ones I do know, I know by name too). I just changed my avatar too and I was wondering if it was confusing but went for it anyway!

I know both, for the most part, but distinctive, non-photo avatars are the easiest ones for me to remember.

I recognize them by both. I try not to change my avatar so it doesn't get confusing, but I may someday if I get bored with it

I know both, I think! for instance when @lavender changed her name, I recognized her avatar. when others change their avatar, I usually can place the username but both changes take a minute.
I also am playing with the idea of changing my user name - but no ideas what to change to, and not sure if anyone would remember who I was!

i get more thrown off when someone changes their name, than their avatar.

I know most people by their avatar but I try to connect names with them, too. I've never changed my avatar but I might sometime in the future!

I more quickly recognize the avatar than I do the username.
