A friend posted this on FB - I was like What???? LOL
Then I realized that in college we also had code words for doing "things" so I guess I shouldn't be so surprised!

Sex. It means sex. My husband and I disagreed about this last month, so I checked online and with my teenage sisters. I was wrong.

The other one was "I'm doing laundry" which means they are trying to hide something from their parents!

It means come over and get busy as in sex!
ETA: I learned about it on "The Real" and then promptly removed the talk show from my DVR. I am too old for that mess! LOL

In my house it means a movie.
However I was informed by Facebook a few weeks ago that I'm totally out of touch and old and it means something else.

Our neighbors invited us over for dinner. He told him we were going to Netflix and chill. He was laughing at himself and had to explain it to me. Pretty sure I didn't get any that night though

Haha I said this to D a few weeks ago and he started waggling his eyebrows at me and I was so confused...and old, lol!
But we decided that when you're married with a clingy toddler and are heavily pregnant that Netflix and chill actually means watch Netflix and veg out on the couch

@Mamaof2: I felt hopelessly out of touch. I'm not even thirty yet! Oh well. It was inevitable. I've never been that cool.

Doin' it. Though when we Netflix and chill, we usually really just chill.

@Mamaof2: Just had this text exchange with my husband --
Me: If I said let's watch Netflix and chill what would you think that meant?
Husband: Hook up. You're like 3 months late to that party.
At least my husband will know if our kids are trying to pull one over on us with confusing cool lingo.

@daniellemybelle: lolll, yes. I know what it means but we take Netflix and chill very literally in our house

Haha I took it as the new "want to come over and watch a movie" because in my college days that usually led to very little TV watching

@LBee: hahahahahah!
Well, I can honestly say my husband and I both think it means watch Netflix and... chill.

Haha yes I know what it means but it confuses DH. Even after I told him it was code for sex he claims he doesn't see how lol

OMG. My kids are forever banned from the internet, texting, and leaving the house without adult supervision.....until they're 25. After that, fine, go have fun
Argh, I hate this shit, we seriously weren't this devious as kids, what is wrong with kids nowadays?!?

Wow. Definitely was taking it the literal way. My husband just looked at me like I was crazy when I told him I didn't know it meant sex.

I just found out what it meant from teenage siblings a month ago. Before that I just thought it meant watch a movie and hang out...
It made me feel like an old lady. Even my husband knew what it meant too! And he is 3 years older than me...ha!

Haha yes I am jiggy with that expression, but only because of Instagram!

Holy moly, my baby cousin (who is actually 20, but still) posted this on snapchat last week. I totally thought this means just watching Netflix in your pjs.

Hahah yuppp I knew it was code word for sex.
But to me personally, it actually means watch Netflix and chill hahah
GOLD / wonderful apricot / 22276 posts
Hahaha I had no idea, and I'm only 26. That's bad. I guess we do a lot more chilling. Actually...we don't even have Netflix.

Feeling pretty hip for a 34 year old mom.
When we announced #3 DH's brother responded with "don't you guys know about Netflix?" DH said "yeah, that's how this happened"

Haha. I work on a college campus, and the kids love making puns off of this. "Library and chill" is my recent favorite.

<18 = sex.
>18 = netflix and chill.
Give or take a few years depending on maturity.

I did not know this was code. I posted a pic to our blog of DS with this caption. (He was, actually, watching Netflix and chillin'.). I feel like an old moron now but am comforted that our blog is only read by other olds (aka grandparents).

Oh my god I'm ancient. I regularly see this phrase and never knew it meant anything other than legitimately watching Netflix and chilling.
