We just moved to a new house and have already met a bunch of our neighbors. We received 4 welcome gifts and everyone has been so nice, coming outside and introducing themselves when they see us outside. It's so different from our old neighborhood where no one spoke to one another!

We talk to everyone on our cul de sac. They all have kids so were often outside monitoring bike riding/playing together. It's weird because we spend time together almost every day but I don't really "know" them. I should host something so we can all actually chat. That would involve cleaning the house though.

We had the same experience when we moved to our new neighborhood. In our old neighborhood, we knew the couple across the street because they had a baby close in age to D. But otherwise we knew no one.
Two days after we moved into our new house, our next door neighbor came over and told us he was hanging his daughter's old baby swing on the swingset in their backyard for D to use whenever we wanted! We've hung out with them, the people behind us, and the people across the street on several occasions. It's SO nice to know our neighbors!

We met most of the people in the end of the street right when we moved in. There's a couple people we haven't met a few houses down.
In my old neighborhood, I met two people in the three years before DH moved in. Once he lived there, we knew everyone.

Yes but not much interaction besides saying hi when we see each other out!
